THE REVIEW

Flows, our life flows, a continuous stream, day and night, work and break, friends and enemies, breakfast and dinner, everything flows, the streets and the noises, the silence of solitude, every day we choose a path, every night we go back, someone appears, someone else disappears, we add up and reset ourselves, misery before our eyes, love disappoints us, deludes us and makes us see the sun again, recklessness guides and carries us, total drunkenness is the master, chaos and ecstasy, joy is a shadow, pleasure a trick, in search of enchantment we get lost and cling on, and in the dust we are alone.

Systems/Layers is a rare and rarefied album, a dream or a nightmare it's what Chopin or Mozart would play today, it's a snapshot of our life, classical and electronic music mix and clash, sounds of everyday life, voices, hypnotic rhythms, sound expressionism, ambient music, the soundtrack of an ordinary life, the symphony of our poor reality.

The Rachel's began working on Systems/Layers in '97, an instrumental project set in an urban and current reality, despite its flaws it projects the listener into a human and real dimension, it leads to meditation and mystery, it plays with the heart, ours, making us the protagonists of the film that flows, an ambitious work perhaps not perfect but sincere.

Classical, experimental, indie-rock, post-rock, what is the right definition I don't know, it depends on your life, on your journey, the highlighted sound landscape is intense and directly proportional to your emotions and your daily reality, if your idea of reality is faded if your self is dazed in front of life you may find relief and you could bet again, and perhaps, this time, you may win, finally.

19 tracks that could be one, piano and strings, few percussions, various samples and keyboards, winter atmospheres.
A FILM.
