Am I going to be stoned if I say I've never even accidentally heard them? I've always found them a respectable group (at least back when I was considering listening to them, which was before Zeitgeist came out), but not worthy of my attention. I mean, I was already sure I wouldn't like them. Now, roughly six years later, and after thousands of different listens, my opinion hasn’t changed—it's actually gotten worse: now, even less than before could I ever like them.

I think I've said this often enough that I like them, without any pretensions, but I always enjoy listening to them, between a Prurient record and one by Dead Can Dance. I like this one less; some songs taken individually are absolutely brilliant pop tracks (if we don't want to mention 'Fix You', I think of 'The Hardest Part' or 'White Shadows' as per the review), but taken as a whole, it's exhausting. The earlier ones are better; the following one has the same flaw, and I avoided the last one outright.

But is it out? For crying out loud, wait for the album releases before reviewing them!

I don't know how I ended up on this review, but I think I've found the most schizophrenic fake in the history of the site...

I only know L'alba di Morrigan, and I also know the bassist through forums... They're really nice.

"Acoustic guitars make their first appearance, as do synths and strings that play fundamental roles in many tracks." Do these things really appear for the first time in this album? And what about 'La Canzone di Tom'? What about 'Io Ti Aspetto', 'Direzioni Diverse', and in general the (to be honest, somewhat naive and gaudy) use of electronics in the previous album? And what about 'Die Zeit'? And the outbursts in 'Maria Maddalena'? Have you even listened to the previous albums?

Damn, one of the metal bands that still withstands my changing tastes comes to this end... I still pull out 'Under Jolly Roger' and 'Black Hand Inn' every now and then: raw and uncouth, just the way I like it. Too bad though.
Pantera Vulgar Display Of Power

Finding Pantera mediocre because they're tacky is like criticizing the stoner by saying that everything sounds the same: it's absolutely true, but who the fuck cares?
