Judas Priest Sin After Sin
Voto:
"Sin After Sin" is often underrated; personally, I prefer it to the following "Stained Class," where Rob sings with a tone that's too high, at times ridiculous. "Killing Machine" is the only one that fully convinces me, but there are also several excellent tracks here: "Sinner," "Starbreaker," "Let Us Prey," "Raw Deal," and "Dissident Aggressor"—it's a shame about the production.
Steely Dan The Royal Scam
Voto:
I’ve read from various sources that it is inferior to the previous ones: I disagree, for me it’s the best, although the high quality of every Steely Dan album puts them all more or less on the same level. I like the latest ones a bit less, but the first six are among my favorites, especially "The Caves Of Altamira," "Kid Charlemagne," and "The Fez." In anthologies, the choice of tracks is often questionable, as they include several songs from the first album and that garbage "Show Biz Kids." From the other LPs, I’d like to mention lesser-known tracks: "King Of The World," "Parker's Band," "Through Back The Little Ones," "I Got The News," and "Glamour Profession."
Return To Forever Romantic Warrior
Voto:
Of the historic trio Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, and Return To Forever, I prefer the latter as they are closer to prog, especially due to Corea's keyboard style. It's hard to choose one among the band's works, but this is the most representative and contains the magnificent "Sorceress" along with other notable compositions like the title track and the final piece. However, my favorite from RTF remains one from WHIKYB ('74), "Song To The Pharoah Kings," incomparable.
Emerson Lake & Palmer Tarkus
Voto:
The suite "Tarkus" is a true manifesto of progressive rock at its finest, in spite of the many idiots who talk about virtuosic skills for their own sake; however, the second side is somewhat of a filler, even though a few tracks stand out. The pinnacle will come the following year with the superb "The Endless Enigma," "Trilogy," and "Abaddon's Bolero."
Rush Moving Pictures
Voto:
The most beautiful album by the Canadian trio, the fourth of eight consecutive masterpieces! "Witch Hunt" and "Red Barchetta" are stunning; "The Camera Eye" should be played live more often. Definitely the best group of the eighties and one of the few noteworthy in the last three decades, alongside the Pat Metheny Group and Chick Corea's Elektric Band.
Yes Tales From Topographic Oceans
Voto:
Always controversial, despite its wordiness, TFTO is one of the artistic peaks of the band. "The Revealing Science Of God" is the most beautiful suite by Yes after the heavenly "Awaken" and the divine "Close To The Edge." Among the four, I would place "The Ancient" a step below, because of the first part with that not-so-successful synth-guitar. Allow me a vent: on a famous site (onda rock, can we say?), a reviewer defines progressive as "naive distortions of classical, jazz, and rock, between yawning and disgust": certain music critics not only don't understand anything about music, but they are also assholes as people.

My Favourite Album Of All Time...
The best album in the history of rock, absolute perfection.
Darkthrone A Blaze in the Northern Sky
Voto:
Probably the absolute pinnacle of Norwegian Black Metal! The six tracks that comprise it are all classics, an unmatchable record. Even "Under A Funeral Moon" and "Transilvanian Hunger" are essential. As for other black metal bands, my favorite albums are "In The Nightside Eclipse," "Pure Holocaust," "The Shadowthrone," "Det Som Engang Var," and "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant."
Burzum Filosofem
Voto:
I listen to a lot of Black and I enjoy most of the classics in the genre, including the first three excellent albums by the Count, especially the second one. But this "Filosofem" is overrated. The main flaw is that disgusting filtered voice that ruins everything; it is truly unbearable, especially in the third and fourth tracks. The piece that lasts half an hour is definitely tedious and repetitive.
