They played in a town near mine, but I didn't go to see them. People who attended the concert spoke poorly of it. Anyway, they seem worth a listen. I'll make arrangements.

A review that's just the right length and completely resonates with me. You've done really well, Ian no, because I adore him too, but he never comes to visit us over here.

I personally love them. Maybe even more.

You combined the two strands. My Literature professor liked it. Clearly not by coincidence.

Alright, what does literature have to do with it now? It's clear that at a textual level it's another planet. Thanks anyway.

No, I'm sorry, I exaggerated with the jerk comment. I agree with the rest though. Anyway, I apologize. Really.

Alessio, how come you can't appreciate Battiato? I admit he has produced a lot of garbage, but many of his lyrics, in their nonsense, open a thousand doors. Anyway, more than discussing with you, which I’m not very interested in because you don't know how to do it, being disrespectful of others' opinions, I ask you, as the Vate of DeBaser: which Italian artists do you think write the best lyrics? At least that way the discussion has some utility for me: you can introduce me to artists that I might be overlooking or don’t know. Tell me, really, I’m curious. I’ll avoid responding to you about the pusher: I've understood for a long time that you're an arrogant jerk.

Ah, I almost forgot the golden Tuscany: Diaframma and Litfiba (of course in the early part of their career).

I'm sorry, I hadn't read the last question. It's logical that if you compare him to the crap of today, like, I don’t know, Meneguzzi, then Gaetano wins the comparison, without a doubt on the lyrical level, and also on the musical one, which for me remains a rather unexciting aspect. In the Italian scene, as for lyrics, I've always liked De Andrè, Battiato, Battisti/Mogol, and to a much lesser extent, the early Renato Zero and Bluvertigo. Someone will surely have something to say about these names, and I'm perfectly fine with that, just as I’m equally fine with continuing to assert my opinions: a Gaetano album bores me and musically annoys me quite a bit. I don’t think I’m being narrow-minded because of this; on the contrary, quite the opposite. I respect what you say, but I don’t share it. What’s wrong with that?

Framed? I don't find Gaetano's texts poor, but they are still veeeeery far from the peak of life. In short, to be clear: I don't see him as a poet, nor do I find him witty or pleasant. Am I supposed to be a "framed" type just for this opinion? Alright. But listen to him and enjoy your Rino. Is it really a problem if I don't share your opinion?
