On "My little child" I could cry all my tears (I know I'm also sweetly sentimental). Of course you have a lot of courage to write about Desertshore with a nickname like yours!!
Thin Lizzy Black Rose: A Rock Legend

When it comes to Phil and Thin Lizzy, something very personal ignites within me. There’s a sensitivity, a sincerity in Phil that I've always resonated with, as if his music and lyrics were speaking directly to me. "Got to Give It Up" is the track through which I first discovered them: it was January 4, 1986, and DJ Marco Garavelli (those from Milan will certainly know him) played it after announcing Phil's death. I didn't even remotely know who they were, nor would I have been able to grasp the lyrics at the time, but those notes and that voice immediately conveyed something deep to me.

I remember them very well (not that I've ever seen them live, but I recall a certain radio show, every evening from Monday to Friday, requests on Tuesday, charts on Friday...).

P.H. Lovecraft... sounds funny
S.T. Joshi Io Sono Providence: la biografia di H.P. Lovecraft

I will definitely look for it, also because I had stopped at the biography of L. Sprague De Camp, which is well done and critical of some aspects that over time have been somewhat distorted (the Cthulhu myths, for example). Since 1972, I think there has been more light shed on Lovecraft, his massive correspondence, and his life, and Joshi is certainly the best person to read and present it all again.

So if I like 8 1/2 I'm an "intellectual... adorned with a bit more sophisticated decorations to hide elitist conformism"? What a drag... "Casanova" remains a stunning film.

And to think that I didn't know it at all (the site, I mean). It would have been helpful a few years ago.

I can't find a rating for the work; it's of such sincerity that when I listen to it, I feel like I have a friend in front of me, ready to share important confidences. And what can I say to an artist who relies so much on their listeners...
Cirith Ungol Forever Black

I will have to look for it. I can still see myself at sixteen, calling Radio Peter Flowers to request "War Eternal" on Linea Rock...
