I completely agree with your thoughts! Moreover, what meaning would you attribute to the hermetically mysterious cover? It has always unsettled me.

I will have to listen to it. "The Dreams..." is perhaps my favorite story by Lovecraft.
S.T. Joshi Io Sono Providence: la biografia di H.P. Lovecraft

The trivialization of a writer almost inevitably goes hand in hand with their fame, and I would also say with their quality. But then again, that's the beauty of Lovecraft: he wrote pulp fiction, he knew it, and he embraced it; so you can just pull out a tentacle or the character for a role-playing game. However, if you open Pandora's box... When it comes to Lovecraft's ideas, I don't feel inclined to defend him, because I don't feel the need to. He was who he was, and he was a writer of pulp fiction, not a politician obsessed with changing the world, and that's how I read him and enjoy him. For a while now, I've been tempted to pick up this biography, but I think I'll wait for the completion of the work.

Amon Düül II Journey Into A Dream (Viaggio in un sogno)

Perhaps a bit too monumental, but I’ve never understood Julian Cope's disdain for this album. Come on, how can you not love a record that has a (sub)title like "The Marylin Monroe Memorial Church"! And I like your singular idea of reviewing it in its "Italian" version (I didn't even know it existed).
Aleister Crowley I racconti della bestia
Voto:
What interesting stuff!! I didn't know he had dabbled in literature. Crowley has always struck me as a bit of a great impostor, and quite a mess with linguistic material.

I never had much of a feeling for the genre they played (de gustibus...), but I have always admired them greatly: a fantastic example of dedication to music - and not the frills that come with it. It’s nice to hear them talked about.
H.P. Lovecraft Teoria dell'orrore
Voto:
Sometimes Lovecraft's essays are more like excursions and recommendations for those who wish to delve deeper into a certain type of literature. It is true that one can deduce revealing clues about his worldview and his conception of horror. In light of certain critical pages, one can better understand his relationship with the unknown, and what he deemed unknown, and one can also better resonate with some characteristics of his work that have always been considered flaws—such as the lack of true psychological depth—by grasping what truly mattered to Lovecraft. I must look for this volume.
Peter Banks Two Sides of Peter Banks
Voto:
I wouldn't know what rating to give (anyway positive) to the album. Besides a lot of beautiful guitar, some of Collins' drum parts are truly spine-chilling. Banks has always left me a bit puzzled: setting aside "Time and a Word" (in which, it is said, he was prevented from expressing himself as he wished, overwhelmed by an incredibly annoying orchestra), even in the debut "Yes" he never struck me as such a brilliant guitarist. Then he leaves Yes and goes on to do amazing things... I've never understood it.
