Rating: The legendary story of Negazione lasted nine years.
Nine years of constant struggle, never aligned, perpetually on the edge. They always did everything on their own, never seeking compromises. Organizing world tours without a hint of comfort; like that time in Amsterdam after a 22-hour journey through the snow. They didn't even have time to recover because the evening demanded their immediate presence on stage. And they delivered one of the best live performances. A true national pride that I was lucky enough to witness live during the Monster of Rock of 1991; they didn't pale in front of AC/DC and Metallica.
But let's return to the album, to the collection at hand.
The title says it all: these are the first recordings of the Turin band. Virulent and feverish steps that constituted the solid foundation for continuing their career. It’s the most aggressive, brutal, agitated phase of Negazione. Bloody tracks taken from "Mucchio Selvaggio" a split album shared with fellow citizens Declino. There are also the EPs "Tutti Pazzi" and "Condannati a morte nel vostro quieto vivere" (what the hell of a title...).
Zazzo on vocals, Tax on guitar, Marco Mathieu on bass. A string of drummers who alternated throughout the band's history.
Recordings with a ridiculous budget; compressed, disorganized, deficient sounds. But that's okay.
Ruthless, outrageous hardcore. With Zazzo's voice shrill, stretched to the limit; the vocal cords ready to explode. He sings so fast that it's a tour de force to follow and understand the words screamed into the microphone. Raw, direct lyrics, without any control.
An auditory chaos, an overdriven mess, "beyond," with few comparisons not only in our Italy.
A life lesson; courage to spare.
18 extreme tracks; delirious and insane shards; technique that leaves much to be desired. Heart...heart, passion...passion. There's no room for melody...DEATH NIGHTMARE...
