Manowar Battle Hymns
Voto:
I really appreciate these Manowar, not yet overly hyped. Raw heavy as it was made only in those years. I've never understood the choice to change drummers; Hamzick was, in my opinion, the best they've ever had, bringing a dynamism to the band that I never found again.
Genesis From Genesis to Revelation

In this album, I particularly like certain ballads ("In Hiding", "Window"). Other than that, there is a lot of inexperience. Sure, they were eighteen, but at around that age—just to name one—Kate Bush was releasing an album of wonderful songs, some of which she wrote when she was thirteen. Still, even in "From Genesis..." you can hear some good promises.
Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon

You deserve a five because you remembered to mention Alan Parsons' fundamental contribution. Recently, even Waters has forgotten about it...
ABBA Summer Night City

This piece completely eludes me.
Dario Argento Phenomena

Maybe it’s because it was the first Argento film I ever saw (aired on TV for the first time when I was in middle school), but this movie has always captivated me. It may not be perfect, and sure, it does have some rough patches, but certain scenes are truly memorable (besides the ones mentioned, definitely those that depict the state of sleepwalking). As for the plot, I don't find it that disjointed. A fun fact: one of the sleepwalking scenes (maybe the first) begins with a pan through Jennifer's room. The TV is on and you can see (but not hear) a band during a concert: could it be Yes?

I liked the review, also because you make a great proposal. However, I really like this album a lot... I just can't see "King of the World" as a weak closing (it's actually one of my favorites from the band)!!! Well done, anyway.

I find it hard to express a judgment on this album. When it came out, she irritated me a lot, especially when I discovered that, despite writing her own songs, she basically sang what the producers told her to sing (pop in the early days, almost alternative-rock later, almost A.O.R. more recently). Looking at it closely, and listening to it again today, I don't actually dislike the album; on the contrary... but the persona doesn't convince me at all. After her adolescence, she didn't seem to know what else to say.
Black Sabbath Tyr

Whether it deserves five stars or not, this album gave us incredibly modern and incisive Black Sabbath, with songs of truly exquisite epicness, never coarse, deeply felt. I’m very attached to it!

This summer's sports scandal: a widespread vice has come to light among Australian rugby teams. A player would hit the nightclub, pick up a girl, she would respond positively, and after a few drinks, the two would leave for his place (or a motel). When it came time to truly enjoy the evening, the rest of the team would pop out for a good gang bang. Coaches argued that this practice strengthened team spirit.

The tones of the review seemed a bit too exaggerated to me. I don't like rugby, but then again, I don't like a whole bunch of other sports... simply because I'm not into sports, and that's that. I think that anyway, all sports have their own ethics and their own appeal, and introducing alternative sports to football can only be a good thing, even just to remind us that first and foremost, sport is fun. However, there is an interesting point, namely the enormous media effort (a bit rhetorical) that has been made to propose/impose this sport: live matches broadcasted nationally, various hosting events, magazine covers even in non-specialized publications. Some are investing quite a lot in it even if, for Italy, the results are not thrilling. We've had world champion volleyball teams and basketball teams ranking at the very top in Europe, but despite generating a lot of interest, these sports have never received all the attention focused on rugby in recent times. The idea of nobility of spirit, then, is still to be proven: ask the Australian teams and their fondness for surprise gang bangs.
