Simply beautiful. I'm not a regular on the black scene, but this album by Erykah has enchanted me from the very beginning. And I always sing "Bag Lady" at the top of my lungs.

I was there, even though I'm not a fan of The Wall, but the show is powerful, coherent, heartfelt. I was able to rediscover its universality - I know, it's a big word. But I found, beyond my prejudices, that Waters has truly found a way to approach distant themes that share a strong common thread and always have (and will always have) something to say. It was like that in '79/'80, it was like that when the Berlin Wall fell, a context in which the work took on new shades, and it is like that today, with the attention Waters has focused in this tour on highlighting the drama of war within and outside of us. At almost forty, beyond some clichés, a bit of easy moralizing, and the natural nostalgia, I found more than one point for reflection. It’s not something that happens to me very often at a concert.

Not bad, but I really started to dislike it towards the end, which clashes with the claim of a faithful representation of the Catholic exorcism ritual (which must be performed by a priest authorized by a bishop) and which I found a bit too simplistic and "music video"-like (that’s two BAAAAAAAAL!).

Errata corrige: entrepreneurial bourgeoisie

An irritating book. It's fine to reiterate the disastrous policies of the Savoy state in the south right after unification, but one should have the courage to finally admit that the real difference between the north and south of Italy at that time was made by the presence or absence of a mature intellectual bourgeoisie, which existed in certain areas of the north since the days of the communal freedoms and was always stifled in the south by barons and large landowners. Aprile, moreover, just keeps talking without even providing a decent set of notes and references, which is a mortal sin for a historian.
Alice Cooper Muscle Of Love

Beautiful review of a somewhat forgotten album. Now that I think about it, often the same character of Alice Cooper is forgotten, much like another showman from his era, Frank Zappa. Never a televised special, never a retrospective in specialized press, yet these are two figures who have carved a profound mark in the realm of rock (recently I was also surprised to find a hologram created by Salvador Dalí dedicated to Alice Cooper). We must absolutely reclaim certain memories.

The review isn't bad; the album is one of those that can capture your heart (the flute theme in "Histoire sans paroles"... I get emotional just thinking about it). We’re not very far from Mike Oldfield's best albums. I can't quite understand the deRango at this point.
Metallica ...And Justice For All

How long we waited for this album, we metalheads of the good old days. The idea that Metallica were still alive and kicking after the tragedy of Cliff, the video for "One" that made the purists scream scandal, but which still grabbed you in the gut. All in all, at the time it felt a bit cold (maybe because, besides the bass, it seemed like the low end was missing!). You, however, Thrash_MTL6, owe me a solemn apology for shoving in my face how many years have passed since the release of this record! And to think it felt like it was just yesterday...

I agree that the best is yet to come, even if some gems (how I love "Sha-la-la") are already shining bright.

Great recommendation for a very intense album.
