Jon Anderson Song of Seven
Voto:
Jon wanted to explore more tranquil shores, of course, but for that, one must be able to find the right melody, the right hook. A shaman like him wasn't naturally inclined to it, except in the more poetic and introspective facets, like in the priceless "Days," or with his slightly quirky harmonies (which I adore to madness) like "Everybody here loves you."

I can’t believe that for so many years I found them unappealing, to the point of considering them almost unlistenable. A couple of years ago, I heard "Amanda" on the radio, and it almost brought a lump to my throat (maybe I just improved my English in the meantime, and I’ve added meaning to songs that I can finally fully appreciate for their musical quality). I still consider it a big mistake to use electronic drums on this album, but I never let that stop the goosebumps from coming every time I listen.

I’m quite curious and I will delve deeper. Unfortunately, the review sometimes seems tangled to me - it sounds like a German text passed through Google Translate (sorry, but “reale wirklich” makes me smile a bit).
Van Halen Van Halen
Voto:
I've been thinking about this album lately, especially after seeing Lester Bangs mentioned in other reviews. They are often treated with condescension, but the impact they had on the collective imagination is rarely remembered. And it wasn't just Eddie's tapping; it was also the alchemy created by David Lee Roth's carefree yet ironic persona (one should occasionally take a look at the lyrics, which are anything but trivial), and the rhythms that always made you want to dance. Offlaga Disco Pax also say it: "The Van Halen!"

Lester Bangs... the one who in 1978 wrote "Hard Rock is dead" and a week later Van Halen released their first album...
Saint Vitus Saint Vitus
Voto:
How many times have I dreamed of being able to wear my hair like the guitarist... Rather, I have some doubts about the interpretation of the name (but maybe you found the information in some interview, and then I'm making a terrible impression): "St Vitus" is the name of a disease, the dance of St. Vitus, related to neurological degeneration resulting from alcoholism. The Black Sabbath also talked about it in their "St Vitus Dance" from Volume IV. I've always thought that the name of this band had this origin.

On Epiphany, I had... an epiphany!! I was watching "An American in Rome" and I was blown away by the ending. It's basically the same as "A Clockwork Orange"!!!

It's all fine and dandy, but excuse me, the Alunni del Sole in the ranking of the worst Italian music, NO! Go listen to "E Mi Manchi Tanto" again.

A beautiful album, no doubt about it, but is it really better than the trio "Purple Rain," "Parade," and "Sign'o' the Times"...

I haven't read the book. He is an excellent communicator and knows how to pique curiosity like few others; there is just one thing that disappoints me: despite being from Milan, he rarely turns his gaze to the treasures of his own land.
