I wouldn't ask myself too many questions about it, especially regarding the criticism, which should also be taken with the necessary precautions. We are simply in the presence of a handful of musicians (whom I've cared for a lot) who have aged, champions of a genre that has also aged (badly) itself. Indulgence is also understandable, but for years, I've turned to where certain sounds have been revisited and updated with various contaminations, and we can't really ask those who invented this genre to evolve it. So respect, but I move on with a priori certainty.
