I think I will remember the scene of the little girl's abandonment forever. Forever.

Look, I haven't seen the film, but Anselma Dell'Olio (Giuliano Ferrara's wife) at "Cinematografo" has praised it so highly, she has torn her clothes in admiration, she has shouted masterpiece so loud that I’m convinced it’s a mega-flop. I really believe that. As for the fact that there has been a devaluation of values and quality standards, I think that's debatable, but I find it fundamentally true: objectively, every decade of the 20th century had at least a dozen truly genius films to leave for posterity, whereas since the '90s something has happened where the commercial side of cinema has slowly begun to devour the artistic side. Pino Farinotti, a critic with whom I have a love-hate relationship and who spouts as many big nonsense as great truths, hasn’t given a film 5 stars since "Blade Runner," and then miraculously did it for "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" writing in the review that it’s such a gem in a sea of crap that it was worth giving it 5 stars after more than twenty years. That film is objectively very, very well thought out and studied by the Coens and probably deserves 5 stars (I personally don’t think so, but that’s just my take and I acknowledge it's a big film), but really, how many others are so well thought out, THOUGHT OUT? Is it possible that once it was possible to produce "Psycho," where every scene is simply genius both in itself and in relation to the film as a whole, and today we can at best produce "Troy"? Who knows.

Welcome to DeBaser! The cover is trash and those leather slippers with the sponge socks are the very symbol of trash: I love it. I don't know anything about the album, but I know Pharrell well and I know he’s a mischievous genius who can only produce sonic junk and masterpieces omg, so I might take a look (read: I’m searching for the songs on YouTube). As for the review, next time I recommend more prose and less structure! ;) Finally, a note on poor Kelis: that woman desperately needs good songs because she’s talented, but too often she sings rubbish and I still can’t tell if her new single "Acapella" is rubbish-rubbish-rubbish or if it could possibly make some vague sense; I hope Pharrell stops messing around in Shibuya with NIGO and goes to give her a hand.

Listen, I can guarantee you that I don’t give out grades randomly and think it over a bit before making a choice: the Finley deserve a 1 because they're not just a pathetic group that can only appeal to a very narrow target (teenage girls, no one else), but they're also harmful and detrimental to Italian music given the shockingly low artistic quality of their production. I'm glad you like them and admire them so much, that's fine, but just know that as soon as you're 20 and look back, you'll realize they are pathetic, truly. In the realm of pop for girls, there are better people out there; even the Lost or the Sonohra are better (if nothing else, they know how to play well), but not the Finley. So far, I've only heard two songs from this album ("Fuori!" and another one on the radio) and they are horrifying, with lyrics that offend intelligence and are more ridiculous than you could imagine. In any case, I respect your tastes.

I really enjoyed the review; there's no need for me to comment on the work because it is of such quality that it speaks for itself.

@nes: "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus" are absolute masterpieces beyond words and especially far beyond "Final Fantasy." Even in the realm of pure entertainment, however, "FF" is not at the top: the various chapters of "The Legend of Zelda" are definitely better than "FF," not to mention how much more fun they are since a "FF" can be touching, tragic, profound—whatever you want—but fun, not so much...
