Good evening, everyone.

This is my debut on this DeSite, but I don't need any introductions.

The album I've chosen to review is the following: "In Search Of..." by N*E*R*D.

Why this one?

Firstly, it caught my eye purely from a visual standpoint: the photo depicting the semi-useless Shae with a controller in hand (a PSX one, incidentally) is almost an everyday scene for me. I saw myself in the photo, as if it were me. I bought the CD almost just for the beautiful photographic presentation.

I insert the CD into the appropriate player and the listening begins. On a first run (superficial as usual), I noticed a few things, but it was just a prelude.

A prelude to the excellent work of Pharrell and Chad above all, with Shae making an appearance (in the photo, especially).

"Lapdance" is a classic hit from a classic movie scene from a classic American disco. Not bad nonetheless.

"Things Are Getting Better" noisy but nothing special, honestly.

"Brain" same as above, slightly more harmonious.

"Provider" great track.

"Truth or Dare" feat. Kelis, leaves a bitter aftertaste.

"Tape You" I like a lot, I hooked up with a female Homo Sapiens after playing it for her.

"Run To The Sun" I like just as much, this one really deserves attention too.

"Baby Doll" drumming but limited.

"Am I High?" feat. Malice (The Clipse), a beautiful track, with rapper Malice delivering excellent flow, not disturbing but pleasant.

"Rock Star" smash hit of little significance, for me.

"Bobby James" the gem of the album in my opinion, this is a stroke of genius. Engaging and captivating.

"Stay Together" a fitting conclusion.

In conclusion, the album encapsulates the genius (here, limited but present) and that sense of eternal incompleteness which represents N*E*R*D.

Perhaps it is precisely that air of being eternally incomplete that makes them fascinating and brilliant.
