Alright, I don't even know why I insist on wanting to talk about Vasco on DB, it's like talking about pussy with Solange. The prejudice is so obvious and palpable that it almost makes you want to vomit. Zero argumentation. Okay, you're right VASCO SHIT VASCO MANURE VASCO ILLEGAL PARKING ATTENDANT VASCO FARMER, now you finally feel fulfilled... sorry, I forgot VASCO PEDOPHILE. Cheers.

Guys, please… why don’t we set aside our pride and admit that certain pieces are MUSICIALLY BEAUTIFUL? Let your mind slip away from the persona of VASCO ROSSI for just a moment and focus solely on listening to the track. It is absolutely not true that the session musicians are just puppets there to reproduce a well-structured piece without adding anything of their own! In Vasco’s albums, and clearly in live performances, they contribute to the arrangement of the song in a nearly total way. Damn, if it were really that elementary and ā€œmechanicalā€ as you argue, artists would rather spend a fortune on a group of people with endless experience than hire two kids fresh out of guitar school (or something else), put them in front of a sheet of music, and let the magic happen! ZannaB, you couldn't have picked a better example; ā€œgli angeliā€ would lose a lot without that solo—let’s be clear, the essence of that song is to be found in that solo and in the atmospheres that Landau managed to study and interpret! (Atmospheres that are beautifully enhanced in the video by Roman Polanski). Try having the same piece played by the first Poggipollini you find, and you would realize the gap! Substance is often given by the music, and music is made by these interpreters… and here the circle closes.

Lux, if for you Stef is useless (I hope you've listened to him outside of Vasco's albums... but I don't think so, given your judgment), can you give me an example of an exciting guitarist? Thanks.

Come on Lux, don’t get worked up! Let me start by stating that Vasco represents about 0.5% (maybe) of the music I listen to, and as I’ve already articulated very well elsewhere, I do not consider either shit or art his production. Referring back to what you said, I can only offer my simple and modest opinion, which is certainly open to discussion. Unfortunately, people know Vasco mostly (or almost) for his more commercial songs, the ones you mentioned, the supermarket hits! You see Bollicine, Rewind, Albachiara... and not for those that, from my perspective, "managed to say something." I agree with Primiballi in attributing the genius of Vasco to the first period! I am also convinced that many "modern followers" have never heard songs like: Tu che dormivi piano, Jenny è pazza, Ed il tempo crea eroi... so it saddens me that many judge without knowing (careful Lux, I said many, not all). As for the ā€œZ-list rock clichés,ā€ I have always maintained that technique is not necessarily linked to beauty; sometimes 5 notes played with taste can evoke more emotion than a million notes strung together over 5 pentatonics in 30 seconds, and here I’m mostly referring to the first period. I invite you to listen, for example, to Braido in Stupendo (Album Gli spari sopra 1993), Michael Landau in Gli angeli (Album Nessun pericolo per te 1996). I’ll tell you more, listen to the song Qui si fa la storia from the latest album; from my point of view, Stef Burns is a genius of the six strings! In short, what do you mean by a good guitar solo? Do they necessarily have to involve Satriani, Vai, Gilbert, etc.? You can’t say that Vasco hasn’t distinguished himself musically in Italy; that he is NOW an industry, we all agree, but that he plays with some serious musicians is indisputable! I have no reason to believe that the criticisms of Vasco are unfounded; I gain nothing from it, also because I am not a spokesperson for the ā€œVasco=god, everything else=shitā€ mindset. On the contrary! I just say that objectively (whether you like it or not) he has made a piece of history in Italian music, and that not all of his production is "rotten shit."
Primiballi: you know we think alike. Probably my aversion to the song Bollicine comes from the fact that many times you hear someone say: ā€œAh yes, Vasco, the Coca-Cola guy,ā€ and that drives me nuts because it’s a sign of superficiality! That said, the piece was innovative and provocative for its time, no doubt about it! Liberi liberi... technically speaking, you're right, it's a bit too "constructed"... but evaluated with the heart? What can I say: it's moving, much more than many of his later albums :-)

Surely among the top 3 most beautiful albums in his entire discography. I still don't care about the bullshit I read in the comments about Vasco, since 90% are just meaningless insults with no tangible reason; it's known that on DB insulting him has always been fashionable, even if someone might only know one terrible song like Bollicine and doesn't objectively appreciate what has been produced over time..whatever.

I agree with the previous comment, the cover is simple yet effective, 4 chords "arranged" well and it's done... As usual, Primiballi, congratulations on how you manage to set up the Reviews, your introductory speeches are always noteworthy.

Don't worry, Marpado, I’m not upset over something so trivial! I was just curious to hear your perspective regarding my comment, that's all. I think you understood exactly what I meant, so it's all good. See you soon.

This (AND INSULT ME AS MUCH AS YOU WANT) is one of the most beautiful and complete albums by Vasco... after that, there will be only one more saved: "nessun pericolo per te"... the rest is all made up to make a pile of money. What a pity.

Excuse me for interrupting... first of all, hi Marpado, you really haven’t acknowledged me at all in the review of Clako! It’s clear you didn’t subscribe to my opinion... In any case, considering that I believe I belong, like the good Primiballi, to that 1% you mentioned earlier, I fully share his opinion in post 89. As for the rest, I don’t intend to repeat myself since I’m convinced I was clear enough in the other review...
