dEUS In A Bar, Under The Sea

Is this the version contained in A band in a box (which I don't have)? It's nice, but it kind of diminishes it a bit, doesn't it?
Grand Funk Railroad Closer To Home
Voto:
Magnificent record, which still sounds more contemporary today than a thousand other so-called masterpieces.
Van Halen OU812

I like this one much more than many others. Hagar was exceptional, no doubt about it...
Black Sabbath Tyr
Voto:
More than the judgment on Osbourne's singing abilities, which is, after all, legitimate, I would have spared myself the equation "he's not a media-friendly character" = the other one is better. They are simply two different performers, just as Tyr is completely different (in setting, atmosphere, and god knows what else) from Paranoid.
In any case, even though it has little to do with the rest of the band's production, this singular little disk contained at least 2-3 amazing songs (Anno Mundi, Odin's Court, and Feels good to me, which every now and then - assured I'm alone - I still find myself howling in the car) and showcased a colossal Powell on drums.
Il Rovescio Della Medaglia Contaminazione
Voto:
Indeed, the record was a kind of pretentious nonsense, but that doesn't take away from the fact that (in some parts) it was also hilariously funny. Now I’ll leave you, because I need to raise my electric fence.
Gentle Giant Octopus
Voto:
In fact, to consider them "minor" was - at most - some overweight critic, who probably could never keep up with those dazzling tempo changes... In Italy, they were by far the most influential during that period.
Anyway, excellent record. Whether it's the best (maybe not) or the worst (neither) matters little, given the significance of each.
Goblin Profondo Rosso- The Complete Original Soundtrack Recording
Voto:
Having established my proto-romantic love for the record in question, as for the glorious, and more than ever bygone, argentian golden age (what kind of rhetorical figure this may be, I leave it to those who first stumbled upon the misunderstanding), I propose a little game that could turn out to be a hairdresser's curiosity for some and a trivial trick for others.
Take "Profondo rosso" and fly straight to the track "Deep shadows". If you have the reissue reviewed here, the Film version part 1 will suffice as well.
Next, go retrieve "Octopus" by Gentle Giant, preferably on CD. The first track should be called "The Adventure of Panurge". If you're in a hurry, rush to minute 00:56 and let it play from there.
Antonello Venditti - Francesco De Gregori Theorius Campus
Voto:
The historical value of the album is thoroughly discussed in the excellent review. As for its emotional and deeply personal value, it's hardly worth my mentioning (not that you care). I recently listened to it again, and it continues to electrify me just like the first time: an album that never gets old, underrated then as it is today, and perhaps even misunderstood by those two.
AA.VV. 58° Festival Di Sanremo
Voto:
Sylvian's performance seems to be the best thing on this page... In any case, from this Sanremo, devoid of surprises and, therefore, without particular enthusiasm or significant targets to attack, I've received quite a few confirmations (above all, the formidable thighs of Gerini) and a curious news (an irrepressible desire for fatherhood in enjoying Tricarico's awkwardness). If I had been in the jury, I would have voted for Toto Cutugno: he has lost weight and we must give him credit for that; and the song is still the best thing he has ever sung.

Sylvian's intervention seems to me the best thing on this page... In any case, from this Sanremo without surprises and, therefore, without particular enthusiasm or significant goals to lash out against, I've received several confirmations (notably, the formidable thighs of Gerini) and a curious revelation (an irrepressible desire for fatherhood as I enjoy Tricarico's embarrassment). If I had been in the jury, I would have voted for Toto Cutugno: he has lost weight, and we have to give him credit for that; and the song is still the best thing he has ever sung.
