I've listened to some of his stuff over the last few years, and he's always seemed to me like the little genius of prog sold "by the pound," with (sometimes) ordinary melodies served in a pleasantly progressive package. The only album I remember with some pleasure is "Into The Electric Castle." Pretty good reviews.

YC, given your musical tastes, I love you too!

"28 tracks all differentiated from each other..."? Not even those who wrote and played them would be able to tell them apart. I join the choir.

Maremma dog, how snobbish you are... I’m convinced that many of you look down on Queen because they appeal to “the masses,” that is, even to those who don’t have a musical culture like yours. Deep down, you know that you like Freddie Mercury's band, that their concerts were a blast, and that they wrote fabulous songs; unfortunately, your social/musical status doesn’t allow you to admit it.

"A mini-tour of 5 dates in five theaters, from Milan (January 28, 2008) to Genoa (February 5, 2008): a concert-performance featuring Elio as Frankenstein, the literary monster par excellence.
Accompanied by the Nextime Ensemble conducted by Danilo Grassi, Elio "sings, recites poetry, whistles, and plays a few strange instruments."
A second part includes pieces from "Die Dreigroschenoper" and "Happy End" by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht, as well as a selection from the classics of Elio e le Storie Tese."

Perhaps the redundant ones will be those geniuses of Wings that you occasionally propose to us. This is a FUN, varied, and eclectic album, but also excessive, raucous, and pompous... It depends on each person's personal vocabulary to determine whether these adjectives should be interpreted negatively or if they help define a beautiful (gorgeous) rock album.

I like the reception, I've never listened to them. Unfortunately, I think they are yet another case of "they were better when they were on drugs," roughly around the time of this album and a little beyond, then we know how it ended when Pelùaaaaaa was still around. I know 2 songs well, I don't think that's enough to rate the album.

This is one of the very few albums reviewed in quite some time that truly deserves 5 stars. I remain skeptical about track-by-track analysis, especially when it stretches the review, as well as on some musical notions... I'm not a musician, nor can I read sheet music, but 3/4 and 6/8 are not the same thing, even if they sound the same to the average listener.
