I thought they had released it, but not yet. Great album, maybe out of time; who cares!
Brighter Death Now Innerwar

great review! I believe the album is the cornerstone of death industrial, a total work of art dedicated to death. For those who want to "rest" their ears, there’s the live "Necrose Evangelicum" that shifts towards the territories of a mephitic, overwhelming, hellish dark ambient.

Back in '95, I bought this album without knowing a thing about the artist. All I knew was the producer, one Ron Saint Germain, who was quite active in the early '90s (just think of the thick and gritty production of "Stain" by Living Colour, an aggressive mix of industrial-thrash-black). Needless to say, it was "love at first listen" thanks to that dirty, murky funky sound, inextricably tied to its Africa. A great album that I feel particularly connected to.

"Jibberish" is an album by this guy, Harco Pront - Discografia - Recensioni (no reviews?) and it’s very similar in setting to this "A Sufi And A Killer," even though the Sufis, ganja, dreadlocks, the Mojave, Warp, etc. are light-years away from Harco Pront. Give it a try.

I agree with The Punisher, both on Massive Attack and on Gorillaz.

Album listened to and re-listened to multiple times, ultimately indigestible and boring, enjoyable in small doses. A skewed-doped melting pot where the aforementioned "sufist" grinds everything that can be ground; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. The posh production from Warp helps but doesn’t resolve the issues. On some magazines, I’ve seen reviews with truly "doped" scores, and that doesn’t help either.
High on Fire Snakes For The Divine

The crisis has hit High On Fire's 5th album. They are still themselves, of course, always delivering high-level music, but in this work, they've tried too hard, and unfortunately, too much "distorts" (forgive the play on words). They've pushed the accelerator to the max (a blasphemous combination of Motörhead and Iron Maiden), but in several moments, they risk going off track, and Greg Fidelman's overly "clean" production hasn't helped. Steve Albini, please help them...
