The net one of average for the coldpirla has something poetically perfect about it, much like Giotto's circle.

Honestly... may the Great Spirit, or Ahura Mazda, or whoever can save us from this. Then I can assure you that from what I have seen with my own eyes, reality can be, much, much more absurd and hilarious than these cheap parodies.

Leonard Cohen New Skin for the Old Ceremony

beautiful review, I see the album as a transitional work, the intermediate step between the intimate folk of the early days, to which it remains very much attached, and everything that will come after. "Is This What You Wanted" is genius, "A Singer Must Die" takes your breath away, "Leaving Green Sleeves" is a fiery interpretation in its own way, "Who By Fire" and "Chelsea Hotel # 2", well, they are what they are...

Anyway, I listened to it again and I confirm my impressions: for their standards, it's a stretched-out 6 product, tracks like "The Power's Out," "Saints & Sinners," and "Don't Shut 'em Down" are pure craftsmanship. The only ballad worth saving is "The Cradle Of Humankind," while "So Sail On" is completely useless. "The Heart Of The Sea" isn't bad, but when I think of "Devil's Dance Floor," "Black Friday Rule," or "Rebels Of The Sacred Heart," well, it's not exactly the same thing...
