He was the best. The first three albums are some of the most powerful, in terms of communication, ever produced by a singer-songwriter from our stinky boot, even more than De Andrè and De Gregori at their best moments ("Tutti morimmo a stento" and "Alice non lo sa"?). He was the most sensitive, realistic, but also the angriest and the one who took himself the least seriously. We need someone like him these days. Badly.

Damn, you Neapolitans seem to have an almost arcane bond with your city. Maybe I can’t even conceive of a bond like that, being born in Bergamo. I feel like I ended up here by chance, and, like most people from Bergamo, it doesn't seem to matter to me at all. Here, the bond with one’s land only shows up on the banners of the Lega, but it doesn’t really exist. Bah... I hope the record turns out to be a nice discovery for me.
