Sorry Nero for taking advantage of this page for a SERVICE COMMUNICATION: in the post above I talk about Videomarta - go check out the namesake site - but among the other videos of Our (definitely a woman to marry, if she weren't a minor or just slightly older) I saw one that is wonderful. I'm posting it above and dedicating it to La_valin and Muitosaudosismo, as well as to all those who love me on Debaser and beyond: videomarta.com SV, Il_Paolo

The lower vote is precisely because I - instead of Garrone - would have included segments in which some economics professors, some entrepreneurs, some ministers, or at the very least some puppet like Videomarta (look her up on Google) would explain to the public why things work that way. I read the book and saw the film (beautiful). A bit, I found myself in Tony Servillo and his assistant, who deal with trash and make it "clean" – everything included – because they unintentionally do something similar to my "mission" (however, minor art does not mean trash, and my activity is, therefore, virtuous). Trying to think seriously: Saviano's book says very interesting things about the relationship between crime and economy, helping us understand how the Italian economy can be competitive compared to foreign ones thanks to the intervention of crime and the breaking of rules that is inherent to it. It is, therefore, one of our "resources": what shocks us is that, to function, organized crime must exert a power that is more efficient and less protective than that of the State, which entails, on one side, a daily application of the death penalty for those who do not conform to those rules, as well as a massive use of force by its troops. The film, in my opinion, neglects these complex economic and legal discussions but shifts the focus to the spectacle of death: it does not say that those deaths are the daily toll that a part of Italy (the one from which fresh forces of crime come, but not all beneficiaries of its actions) pays for its well-being. In other words: if I pay less for the detergent – despite the advertising – it is because plastic costs less and, above all, disposing of it costs less. But it costs less to dispose of it because Tony Servillo and the children he employs take care of it. The film does not tell you all this; it lacks the search for the spectacular but not the ultimate reasons for the spectacle. If there will be a sequel, "Gomorra 2 - Il ritorno," it will be interesting to see the relationship between nuclear Italy in 2030 and the quality of buffalo mozzarella. Sociologically Yours, Il_Paolo

I really enjoyed it. A chaotic, fast-paced style, with a language reminiscent of a music video. A perfect mix of Freeman's experience, Pitt's youth, and Spacey's theatrical talent. And what a twist at the end, I never would have believed it would end that way! One of the best thrillers of all time, alongside "The Hitcher," which I watched last night on Rete4.

Sorry Telespalla, shouldn't you be at school right now?

Dear Telespallabob, great review and good luck with your high school diploma (just know that it’s never truly achieved: right now you feel like you’re closing a chapter, like you’ve grown up, and that your anxieties are the first worries of an adult; in a few months, if you go to university, you’ll paradoxically find yourself more immature and inexperienced than a third-year high school student or a third-grade child, who are fully aware of the mechanisms of the microcosm they inhabit. Not to mention if you start working). Last night, I had a bizarre dream - or were you dreaming about me? - where I found myself, at my nice age which I won’t reveal, having to retake the high school diploma exam along with my old classmates and (current) friends: the problem was that I was the only one who hadn’t studied anything, who hadn’t prepared, believing that it was absurd to make me retake the diploma after all this time. Moreover, the certification of a degree that wouldn’t be of any use to me today seemed incongruous. In short, I found myself in the hallway of my old school poring over my friend Emanuele’s notes - which were several years old - looking for clearer information on the biography of some Italian poet (shall we spend a few words on the lovers of our poets, like Fanny Targioni Tozzetti?!?!? what absurd names they had...), but nothing was coming out. I knew nothing. What would become of me? By failing the diploma, would I retroactively lose everything I had done after it? Fortunately, I woke up, realizing how, all things considered, it’s far more beautiful to take the diploma in the real world than to be forced to take it in the bizarre - yet no less concrete - world of dreams. Scholastically yours, Il_Paolo

The review is really beautiful, well done (I don't know him, I only listen to jazz from Ahmad Jamal, in addition to Fausto Papetti and the first Van Wood, of course). But allow me to take advantage of this page to give my usual compliments to Muitosaudosismo, whose anecdote truly can brighten a day: to see our trusted reviewer, less than twenty, tackling a university exam and addressing a music history issue head-on and with passion, the professor recognizing his merits and awarding him high praise, is something epic and almost fantastic (in the sense that if a student confronts the professor in our university classrooms, 99 times out of 100 they get shot down, at least that's what I've been told). That said, one of my upcoming reviews will closely touch on a theme discussed by Muito, one of my hidden inspirations. SV, Il_Paolo

We must deduce that Vellutogrigio is yet another visitor to this site trying to pass me off as someone else's fake. At least he does it in a sly manner. Just to avoid any misunderstandings... I am not a fake!
