I also think it’s the best thing about 2010. Inspired, audacious, megalomaniacal, surreal yet still relevant, today’s Kanye West has become aware of the frivolity of the image-driven man, playing with it in a smart and irreverent way, reflecting on the aesthetic cult of oneself, on the way of viewing the world, and on a subjectivity increasingly detached from reality and ever more in touch with the fictitious world of stereotypes and false myths, with a hip-hop baroque style (which is reductive to define as hip-hop) full of melodic variety and great rhymes. This is what I would call a critical album, and I hope it gives a nice jolt to the mainstream landscape.

Static Tensions was rich in interesting melodic ideas and at times it managed to impress, but it lacked a certain something, almost a foundational structure. In the end, it felt bland and inconsistent, despite the intriguing riffs and a few killer tracks. I haven't listened to this yet, but I will soon. However, I have a feeling it's not very different from the previous one.
