All those who thought: "of course they signed with a major label so they've gone commercial" are very wrong!
"Vile Denaro" released on May 18th (and already listened to dozens of times by yours truly) is a worthy step forward for the Milanese crew. The only difference from the previous ones is that this one has more electronic sounds with more elaborate beats. As usual, the "dogo" style is unmistakable! They don't hold back and spare no one from Bobo Vieri to the inevitable Lapo!
"Mi hanno detto che" is the single that preceded the album, a great appetizer, no doubt about it (incidentally, the full video has been released these days). "Dogozilla" let's say is the anthem song of the album where the chorus spells out the letters D.O.G.O. on a wildly bass-pumping track! "Spaghetti western" on the other hand is a provocation in response to the law written by the League that proposed the freedom to use firearms for legitimate defense (a huge bullshit) "shoot those who don't eat polenta but cous-cous" raps Jake La Furia. "Incubo italiano" instead harshly criticizes the so-called "showbiz" world - corrupt, filthy... a real cesspool. Other significant tracks are "M-I bastard" (which in my opinion has the best beat of the album) and "The truth."
In conclusion, we can safely say that the dogo style, at least for now, remains one of the most incisive and direct in the Italian rap scene. And money remains increasingly vile!
