I watched one of their videos, I can't even remember which song it was, but they didn't impress me at all... really not... anyway, great review!

I adore this album, but it’s more for reasons that are all my own, which don’t really have much to do with the musical proposal! Anyway, I like it a lot… then regarding the fact that Portnoy is the best drummer out there… well, I would be cautious with such statements because there are really many great drummers and not just him!

Haha! The last time I heard his name I was 5 years old!! What happened to him?! The only faint memories I have of him are my dad watching him on TV and saying, "What a drag this Christian is, I hate him!!"

@Beenees: look, the epic sound of Bathory's "Blood On Ice" (and I presume also of this Hammerheart) comes a lot from the Manowar of the first 4 albums, particularly from "Into Glory Ride" and "Hail To England." So, it’s precisely to the fur coats and thongs of DeMaio & Co., whom you criticize, that we also owe the artistic evolution of the great Quorthon; there’s no denying it!!

mah, I don't know what to say.. I gave it a listen, but it didn't impress me too much.. another person I know, however, loves this album.. who knows.. yeah, maybe now Dimmu Borgir are in a limbo, short on ideas, but I believe they are actually a capable band and still have a lot to say.. I'm waiting for developments.. anyway, amidst all the crap that's coming out now and after the latest Cradle Of Filth, I would give this album a 3.5.. after all, it’s not that bad.. in the end, Dimmu Borgir, unlike their "English cousins," will never truly become commercial: they've maintained a sound of Nordic evilness that makes a difference, and that’s already a big deal in my opinion..

(..maybe if I remember correctly "Steal This Album" by System Of A Down didn't have a cover, but obviously that's a whole different story..!)

Beautiful!! I too, Supersoul, as I rediscover the past, am starting to think that the golden age has truly passed..! Anyway, I had never heard of records made like this, without a cover.. so it's clear that I was born in the CD era..!
