If you're not cheerful clowns and/or jokers, if music is a serious matter for you, if you're highly sensitive rasta students from Barcelona, who wander around in sandals and do theater, or indie-ethnic artists from Paris, well then, you can stop reading the review. Otherwise, arm yourself with Dementia and proceed.
The 4 donnas (a manza, a tonna, a whale, and a retard) are among the least alternative and innovative you can find in today's rock n roll world, and this "Bitchin'" is the hilarious confirmation of that.
I won't bore you with a tedious track-by-track, it wouldn't make any sense since the tracks are more or less equivalent in means and intents. Play them as you like, in the order you like, just make sure you turn up the volume to the maximum.
I'm almost ashamed to name their influences, even a priest from Abbiategrasso would recognize them: the more rockin' Judas Priest (the girls had already covered "Livin' after midnight" on their album "Turn 21"), strictly '80s Kiss, the no makeup era, and Motley Crue, just to throw out a few names. The album is a bit more 'mital compared to the already mentioned "Turn 21" and "Spend the Night" (with which, in my opinion, they reached their peak), and it rocks beautifully. The sounds kick ass and are based on the well-known Les Paul-Marshall duo, supported by a properly pumped-up rhythm section.
The lyrics, then, will amuse you: the donnas cheerfully dress as either bitches/tramps (see the title) or as unlucky nerds, following the dichotomy that has animated the world for about 5-6000 years. For this reason, whether you want to fend off a horde of pimply engineers aiming for your ass or whether you are the pimply engineer who can't hook up with the stunning young woman next door, this could be the appropriate soundtrack. Will you fail? Yes, but at least you'll be able to shake your flat ass to some excellent rock tunes. Which, these days, is already something.
To finish: go on YouTube and grab their videos, treat yourself to 5 minutes a day of Donnas, they'll lift you out of several down moments.
Tracklist Lyrics and Videos
02 Don't Wait Up for Me (03:27)
Boy,
I got your number
That doesn't mean I have to call you
Get yourself together
Cause I don't need you like you want me to
Gotta loosen up
Drain the cup
It's time to tear it up
Well, I got one shot
And the night is young
So don't wait up for me
I need another hit
Before I'm done
So don't wait up for me
Boy,
Don't try to slow me down
You're not the only one that's on my mind
Got enough to go around
If you can't take it
You'll be left behind
Gotta loosen up
Drain the cup
It's time to tear it up
Well, I got one shot
And the night is young
So don't wait up for me
I need another hit
Before I'm done
So don't wait up for me
There's no telling where I'm gonna show up
Nobody knows how the night will end
There's no telling when I'm gonna wake up
Well, when I do, I'll do it all again, yeah
Gotta loosen up
(Loosen up)
Drain the cup
(Drain the cup)
It's time to tear it up
Now let me tell you what I got
Well, I got one shot
And the night is young
So don't wait up for me
I need another hit
Before I'm done
So don't wait up for me
Well, I got one shot
And the night is young
So don't wait up for me
I need another hit
Before I'm done
So don't wait up for me
I'll tell you what I got
One shot
And the night is young
So don't wait up for me
(Don't wait up, yeah)
I need another hit before I'm done
(I need another hit)
So don't wait up for me
