Il Genio Vivere Negli Anni X
Voto:
Seen live and adored the first album. This doesn’t excite me at all, instead.

Well, from a musical standpoint, pop-punk songs all sound a bit alike. It's already quite something that they even use the violin.

Well, come on, the Blink talk about nonsense, these guys don’t seem to do that much.

Why link the artist's page on DeBaser if every DeBaser review already has that link by default?

Ocean Avenue was the first album I bought on a whim: I was 14. A record that, listening to it now, is ultimately a bit naive and "American," but it really shaped me, it did. I don’t think I’ll ever listen to it again, mostly to preserve the good memory... A fluid review.

Balmorhea doesn't rhyme with diarrhea because it's pronounced "Bal-moor-ay," just so you know.

Seen live: a wonderful concert. Their album "All Is Wild, All Is Silent" is a semi-masterpiece; this one is a bit less impactful but still pretty nice.

I actually find this to be Caparezza's most catchy work, the only one I've managed to listen to from start to finish. It's varied in its sounds but overall there's a certain cohesion. As for the rhymes, I'm glad he has slowed down his delivery a bit and set aside the virtuosic displays, although it's true that he's starting to lose a bit of shine (let’s remember he’s not exactly a young gun: born in 1973). Ultimately, it's a digestible album that entertains but doesn't quite stay in the heart. However, this emotional coldness (which, when he tries to dodge it with tricks, comes off as somewhat fake: see "Eroe") I believe is a constant characteristic of Caparezza and is something that, unless he reinvents himself, will probably prevent him from ever writing a true masterpiece. We’ll see, for now, we’re having a good time.

If I'm not mistaken, Caparezza even mentions Dizzee Rascal in one of his lyrics... But anyway, the talk about Andre 3000 seems a bit excessive to me.
