Garbage Bleed Like Me
Voto:
I admit I first encountered Garbage through the awful summer hit "Cherry Lips." Getting to know them made me reconsider; they aren't that bad, but let's take it easy: the fact that Butch Vig is in the band shouldn't be seen as a guarantee of quality. Nor does it seem wise to compare them to The Cure or Queens of the Stone Age. This work is commendable, although a bit confusing, as it was created during a period of conflict among the band members. Manson's voice has something extraordinarily captivating about it; it truly is their trademark. So, a 3 out of 5...

incisive review, compliments. I like the double album and I must say it left me slightly astonished (Who expected Norah Jones and Dave Grohl together in the studio???) perhaps a bit more than three. However, I don’t understand an attitude that affects many listeners of music: why do all those who were around Nirvana and Kurt Cobain have to be regarded as garbage a priori? And Courtney Love is an old whore who barely knows three chords and Dave Grohl is incompetent... I don’t think that’s a fair perspective... I say this because, coincidentally, I’ve met many people who would like to see Love dead and were also detractors of Grohl. It seems excessive to me... obviously, I’m not referring to the people who have given the album a rating fluctuating between 2 and 1 on this page or who have expressed disappointment about it. They surely have a reason, or don’t they?

Great review, I must say. I like Placebo as a band and wanted to buy their new work as soon as possible, even though I was slightly discouraged by other reviews and articles that described it as a lame album not up to their previous standards. After listening to it, it definitely didn't leave me with the same positive impression as some of their other albums; on the other hand, the new tracks didn’t captivate me as much as "Special needs," "English summer rain," "Nancy boy," etc.… but it's not that bad.
Red Hot Chili Peppers By The Way

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have never struck me as being as innovative as they're portrayed. Aside from "Californication" and "Blood Sugar Sex Magik," all their songs are just clones of each other. Don't touch U2.

I don't believe that... Even "Sleeping with ghosts" deserves attention... in hindsight, I would add that "Meds" isn't that bad either... anyway, defining an album like this as "Perfect for spending an evening alone with oneself" seems a bit reductive to me.

The White Stripes White Blood Cells

When these two made their entrance into the music scene, praise showered down everywhere. To be honest, I don't understand the reasons for all this acclaim. They surely are a good band, but nothing to be sanctified in my humble opinion. The review seems excessively harsh (Can one say harsh?). Nice cover.
Air 10.000 Hz. Legend

Good job, alright, these Air are exceptional but my knowledge about them stops at "Talkie - Walkie" and I have no intention of going further. Well...never say never.

To be one of the first reviews on this site, it’s quite disappointing... thankfully in this case the good morning wasn’t seen from the morning but rather from the continuation of the day... what a metaphor...
