Katatonia Night Is The New Day

Yes, you’re right; I reiterate that it’s an album that needs to be listened to multiple times to be appreciated. However, let me give you an example: there are those who say that Novembre borrows a thousand percent from Opeth, which I think is a huge mistake. Including many more acoustic inserts in a Doom album doesn’t necessarily mean being like Opeth. It could be a way to experiment, but I see that it is misunderstood by many. Of course, these are points of view, but I can't accept being told that someone who thinks differently has earwax in their ears; that’s not acceptable.

@Gasta: perhaps I misspoke, I didn’t say that in "Idle Blood" Katatonia didn’t take inspiration from Opeth; on the contrary, I think it's quite similar to their style. However, there are also other tracks that are very different, you can't even say it feels like you're listening to Opeth throughout the entire album. This, to me, seems to indicate having earwax in your ears or a rather rigid critical sense...

@hardrock92: a matter of taste, it could either delight you or not, there are those who see it as a new and experimental album and those who see it as yet another copy of Opeth... you decide...

@Hell: the first impression it gave me was that of a 2.5 album, but after listening to it multiple times, I changed my mind..xD...In some aspects, though, it has to be said that it’s much inferior to TGCD, but it’s still worth a listen.

A decent review, although in my opinion certain aspects should be explored more deeply when reviewing a Katatonia album. I listened to the album three times, and I have to say that initially, on first listen, it left me feeling a bit, how should I put it, "with a bitter taste in my mouth." I expected it to be much more dynamic, especially considering the impression I got from listening to the preview of the track "Forsaker" on YouTube. However, in the subsequent listens, I appreciated it a lot; the keyboard elements and acoustic inserts are more prominent compared to previous albums, and I think this is an excellent choice by the band, which has taken a more atmospheric and dreamlike direction in tracks like "Unfurl" and "Sulphur" found in their various EPs.
@olifs89: I fully agree.

More than a review, it feels like a little useless comment.

Smooth and enjoyable read. A very beautiful album, which I definitely prefer over Sin/Pecado, contrary to many fans. It is very experimental, that’s true, but it’s also more direct and heartfelt.
