Hi and thank you for mentioning the two pieces I "overlooked"! Lucky you, unfortunately I missed them live...

I really like your short and intense reviews!! What can I say about John...immense, but I prefer the artistic period before '65. I don't own this record, I heard a sample in mp3 at a friend's house, and from what little I heard, it didn't excite me...I need to listen to it better!

Thank you, Alfredo! Indeed, Braxton's influence on Zorn is quite recognizable... As for Tim Berne, I only know him by name!

Charles Mingus The Great Concert Of Charles Mingus

Ajeje, B.B. was mostly sold due to the hype, because it was cool to have it at home, and in reality, it was NOT liked! It disgusted both rock audiences (too narrow-minded to get it) and jazz audiences (too purist and conservative). Very few truly appreciated it. Even now, those who buy or download it do so because "it is said" in forums and summaries that it is one of Miles' peaks, and of jazz as a whole! Then they listen to it, and in 90% of cases, they find it disgusting, because they are unprepared for the task.

Let's take the good: the acting, the soundtrack (especially "Spartacus Love Theme," loved and performed multiple times by the great Bill Evans), the cinematography, the costumes...
