Perhaps on par with the first chapter. The classic "Survival Horror", similar to a non-interactive video game. It feels a bit "heavy".

I saw it only once, a long time ago, and it didn't exactly have me rolling on the floor with laughter... on the contrary, I found it a bit flat and lacking energy! I was quite disappointed, especially since everyone was talking about it enthusiastically like you. Based on my memory, I'd give it a 2-3, but at this point, I’ll go watch it again.

The theme of this type of film is always somewhat the same, yet it's always fascinating! Obvious similarities with the other films you mentioned; still, I remain curious to see how this one was made, even though I fear it might be a poor man's Matrix!
