John Zorn, George Lewis, Bill Frisell News For Lulu

Hi Morning, indeed those obscure jazz musicians are quite well known (except for Freddie Redd)! ;-) They were all part of the Blue Note roster, all mainstream artists with a typically hard bop approach, all good improvisers with a distinct sound, but none of them were top-tier, so their names don’t belong to the very famous. Let’s say they were among the first in the "B" series... If Sonny Clark hadn’t died so early, he could have aspired to the A series. This record must be very interesting, both for the quality of the individual musicians and the atypical instrumentation (especially for such a repertoire). Great tip!

I can't see the connection between Kurt Russell and John Coltrane... and then, shitty jazz musicians?? Little songs??? You might make an enemy out of Contempla, watch out, knave!

Great Metallica concerts. A must-have box set. An incredibly important band that marked my pre-adolescence. I can't vote; I'm too emotionally attached to them.

Great film rated 4.5 and good review. But Aliens 2 manages to create an entire iconography, a whole world of its own. That legendary group of colonial Marines is one of the most charismatic and well-defined ensembles in cinema and literature. Hudson, Hicks, Vasquez, Sergeant Apone, Lieutenant Gorman, the android Bishop, the double-crosser Burke are truly characters studied to perfection in their image and psychological profile. Michael Biehn (Hicks) is superb for these types of roles; it’s no coincidence he was one of James Cameron's favorite actors (who cast him as Kyle, the "anti-Terminator" in Terminator, which he played excellently). Spectacular is Hudson's descent (a textbook swaggering coward) into the abyss of madness after those hours of terror. His hysteria and fear turn him into an unstoppable war machine in a memorable scene where his berserker rage ("MOOTHEEERFUCKEEEEEERRRR!!!") leads him to recklessness and "suicide," after decimating aliens with his M41. The arsenal and equipment are so captivating that they inspired a beautiful video game (the first Aliens vs Predator). The Italian dubbing is perfect, with entire sequences of lines etched in memory. Chilling settings and palpable tension throughout the film. The presence of the annoying blonde brat is avoidable or can be downsized.

Very good! Perhaps you meant to give the film 4 stars? Bergman's film has been translated in Italy as "Come in uno specchio," right?

;-))) What a luxury to have you as a lawyer, dear! Even though I'm not the injured party... Anyway, good Muffin is definitely one of the noble knights of the round table, and even Sir Pamparius, from what little I know of him, knows his stuff! It was never a true tournament. P.S.: my trusty Manneo passed me the complete discography of Pat in mp3. I'll start with Trio 99-00, and then move on to the more "jazzistic" ones, and I'll go back to browse through your old reviews about them. Cheers!

Thank you dear Andrea! You see, I'm shy, I can’t bring myself to tell you in public that I LOVE YOU TOO!! Have a great concert with Woody and a family reunion, and say hi to Laura for me. I’m leaving for Prague with my Gabry on Monday morning, spending Christmas in absolute relaxation and with snow up to my neck, and I'll be back next weekend... I really needed it, and the cold just brings out my primal hormones... yeah, basically I turn into Rocco Tano. UXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKJFDHSJERUF HWSKJFHS
