"The Ecstasy Of Gold"... and everything became metallic.
Shit played live. Quality shit. Highest quality. Shit offered in Mexico (the three CDs), and then more shit, this time from San Diego (DVD 1) and even from Seattle (DVD 2). All the ladies are there, from "Master of Puppets", to "Enter Sandman", "Nothing Else Matters", "Wherever I May Roam", etc. etc.
What to say. Three hours that alternate between James's screams, Hammet's splendid guitar riffs, Newstead's four-string roar, and Ulrich's unmistakable drum grooves. And what about the Justice medley, the splendid moments of "The Unforgiven", Hammett who during one of many solos uses his guitar as toilet paper (?!?), Hetfield's drumming and the bass solo of "Orion" (on DVD)... It's impossible to describe in words all the emotions you feel watching these concerts, seeing the usual four guys set the world on fire on tour, not being mesmerized by the 18 minutes of "See And Destroy"... the only thing that might really annoy you (it annoyed me a looooooooooot) is "Master"...cut before James's solo and with the consequent loss of the entire second part of the song!
For all those who still speak ill of Jason today, I highly recommend "watching" this Live Shit... you will discover the greatness of the former bassist of the quintessential metal band. And you'll understand that Trujillo has nothing to do with this group... :)
I repeat, no review can convey what these concerts are (especially the DVDs)... so the only way to understand the reason for such greatness is to watch them, absolutely... unmissable, 100%.
Yes, I’m talking about the fabulous "Live Shit: Binge & Purge" by a little band called Metallica, which at the time, was at the peak of its career!
In three hours of concert, we have that great drunken rascal called James Hetfield who screams, spits, and belches! What more could we want?
