Herbie Hancock Future Shock
Voto:
Never listened, and I don't think I will! Herbie peaked during the period '63-'73, afterwards he remained a great pianist churning out albums of questionable artistic quality (unless there are exceptions, let me know if you know any), under the pretext of experimenting. In '76-'79 the reunion with the acoustic quintet (Miles excluded, Freddie Hubbard in his place), under the name of V.S.O.P., of which the best album is definitely the double "Live Under The Sky," where Ron Carter and Tony Williams dominate.

But yours is a true crusade for Italian jazz!! ;-) That crap about tribal rhythms is enough to make one's wrists tremble...oh my God!! As if it had even been a concert of just drums, what the hell does that have to do with acoustics?? That problem arises rather with distorted electric instruments or excessively amplified ones...tribal rhythms, bah! Moreover, the nonsense and the offense are twofold: first, because the word "tribal" is intended in a derogatory sense, as if jazz musicians were savages with bones in their noses; second, because the TRUE tribal rhythms are often quite subtle and complex, full of polyrhythms and polymetries, therefore rich in nuances and refinements, nothing like the stuff for big apes. The symphonic percussionists would NEVER be able to play and CONCEIVE those rhythms. Outrage and animosity.

Thank you, Capit!
Lucio Battisti Una giornata uggiosa

The clash between Battisti and Iron Maiden is surreal and grotesque! If it were a showdown between titans, at least one could have a laugh... in any case, the discussion about the top spot in the charts has never been relevant to establish the quality of the musical offering. Nice reception, Valentina, and Annalì, the perverse ones, you could have had both of them together, so your reputation would rise without needing Ray-Bans or camperos!

"Levis? But why do you keep calling me Levis?"..."Levis is your name, right? Levi Strauss! It's written everywhere, even on your underwear!"

Thank you for the visit Hal, I didn't reply right away because I've just returned from Paris. And I found out that Michel Petrucciani is buried practically next to Chopin (so, it had nothing to do with it, it was just a pour parlé!)
Quentin Tarantino Jackie Brown

Good film, worth watching a couple of times to catch everything.
