Great album, even if not a masterpiece. The romanticism and melancholy of "At My Most Beautiful" are a heart-wrenching experience, and the verve of "Lotus" should not be underestimated. @Marpado: "they also go round on M(erda)TV and that’s usually enough for a total dismissal." Another cliché you mention. What airs on MTV fortunately isn’t all crap, and the fact that even Stipe and company show up there (I don’t know how much, I’ve almost completely discarded MTV) doesn’t automatically annihilate the value of their past artworks... are you really telling me that "Automatic For The People" is crap? "Out Of Time" is crap? "New Adventures In Hi-Fi" is crap? "Murmur"? "Fables Of The Reconstruction"? This "Up"? BAH.
