P.p.p.p.s. I've read some stories about prog (and also other genres, grunge, metal, hard rock, etc.) that are found on the web, such as Ondarock, something from Scaruffi, and others that I can't recall right now. They may not be the best, but you yourself mention any one of them. In any case, I certainly don't consider myself an expert in music; I want that to be clear.

P.p.p.s. I have never listened to Television (blessed ignorance!), so I don't see why I shouldn't quote a comment from Arnold on prog just because he rated an album I don't even know with a 1. It seems quite incredible to me this way of reasoning. Could it be my mind twisted by prog??

If I'm to be honest, I'm astonished. A post in which I've tried as much as possible to be conciliatory (I say, among other things, that I don't consider my opinion an absolute truth, that Azzo's opinions are well-argued, that prog is seen differently from person to person, etc.) and I've simply stated that I agree IN THIS SPECIFIC CASE with Arnold's opinions, is cited as a "gem" and an example of my total lack of open-mindedness. I can't understand, I'm sorry, I must clearly be limited, I don't know. Then there's me, supposedly entrenched in my fort, who knows. Honestly, I'm now tired of this and a bit disgusted. I've been reading DeBaser for a long time, and I decided to register only recently with the belief that by expressing my opinions calmly, without offending or entrenching myself, trying to be open to others' ideas and to learn something, I would avoid annoying misunderstandings and pointless quarrels like this one. Evidently, I was wrong, and I’m very sorry about that. Ah, now you’ll say I’m playing the victim and that I’ve run out of arguments, probably. Fine, I’ve run out of arguments. I'll close this nonetheless interesting discussion in which I've learned two things: 1. Prog is, for the most part, crap, and this is a sacred, incontrovertible, and universally accepted truth that I just have to accept (had I known this before, I would have saved a lot of money too); 2. Anyone who expresses different opinions about prog, in any form, is a fan, is part of a pro-prog party, has a Manichean view of music, is closed-minded, and is entrenched in their own fort, in addition to obviously giving a one to any non-prog record. I’ll take all of this to heart. P.S. Just to attest to my close-mindedness and my intrinsic hate and contempt for everything that isn’t prog, yesterday, on Azzo's advice, I bought (sight unseen) this album by Sonic Youth (which for me, make it clear, is obviously a prog album...), I listened to the first five tracks and liked them quite a lot; when I've listened to the rest, I’ll give it a rating. P.P.S. <<If we don’t want to rewrite the facts, what AZZO says is true>>, so you share Azzo's opinions (in this specific case), just as I share Arnold's (in this specific case), therefore, following YOUR (NOT mine, let it be clear) way of reasoning, you've teamed up with Azzo.

Tricky, as a response, I refer you to the two posts I wrote earlier; maybe you haven't read them? I repeat that I haven't taken any sides but have only expressed my opinions, trying to argue them as best as my ignorance in the music field allows, I'm not a fan, I don't barricade myself in any fortress, etc. As for the revealed truths, you are the one who spoke of sacred truths and incontrovertible opinions, am I wrong? I’m sorry to be polemical, as it's not my intention, but it’s annoying that someone arbitrarily extrapolates something from my words that I never intended to say. I can only invite you to reread MY posts from the beginning of this conversation.

I would like to clarify that the review is well done (except for the last sentence...), but it's the fifth one in 2 weeks...

Continuing to read your subsequent posts, I don't consider myself a die-hard prog fan ready to sacrifice myself. Moreover, unlike you, I've never spoken of sacred and incontrovertible truths. If you see yourself as the bearer of Revealed Truth, then there's no point in discussing this. I repeat, in this discussion I have only expressed my personal opinions; everything else is your invention.

@trickykyd, I have no Manichean view pro/con, you are completely off track, I'm sorry. I have only simply responded to your observations that did not convince me, nothing more.

Well, if it's for a tour then it wouldn't be bad actually. @nevskji, why Abruzzese out of all the options?
