@bjorky, but why do the early VDGG albums cost so much? I don't even have one original...

Tell me, why did you do it? Why?? Why allow anonymous comments?? I don't know the artist, so I appreciated the page. I will remedy my ignorance!

Pib, you’re the usual exaggerated sentimentalist :-))) We haven’t seen much of you lately, I can tell you're studying, unlike me!

"I stated that Grunge does not have the characteristics to be considered a genre," but it's true! However, it was a "phenomenon" (call it what you want, but it was "something") that produced great music and, in my opinion, even masterpieces. Then, in my view, there were common characteristics, and not just "socio-cultural." Although not enough to talk about a true "musical genre." But so what? "Its 'legend' was built by the media, willingly or unwillingly, and not by factors intrinsic to the music," yes, that's true, but the fact that a legend was created around a character is independent from the music produced. I mean, the fact that Cobain is a legend doesn’t imply that he was musically valid, but it doesn’t imply the opposite either! Now it's true that many people adore or have adored Nirvana because of the legendary aspect of the Cobain character and the media overexposure. But frankly, I don't think this applies to competent and intelligent people like Don or Ale'. "No comment responded to me, explaining why in their opinion [...] Nirvana should be considered musically and not sociologically important," I tried, even though in a way that, I admit, is extremely personal. Ale' then rightly told you that "Cobain and company managed to do what no one else had managed to do, that is, to turn punk-rock into mainstream." This is a musical merit, not just "social."

I'm downloading the album because it piqued my interest; I'll listen to it over the weekend. Anyway, my post wasn't about the merit of your opinions, but essentially about the manner. I find nothing more annoying (not even ignorance) than those who are convinced they have the truth in their pocket and impose it on others in an arrogant and disrespectful way, as you did. In the sentence I quoted, you pretty much called the majority of the site's users ignorant (I'm excluding myself because I'm really ignorant, at least in the musical field).

"The result is that you listen to the album once, twice, or three times, and then you find it too heavy and too unengaging to listen to again," this hasn't happened to me. Surely it's because I haven't yet been enlightened by the Supreme Truth, as you have. I’ll stop here because, even if you may care little, I have no intention of engaging in a discussion with users who present themselves with an attitude like yours.
