Let's not exaggerate, Hetzer. Where do we place things like "Sentieri Selvaggi"? This isn't exactly classic western. Great movie nonetheless.

Then I see that for you the VU, perhaps the most seminal band in history, are garbage... so get your thoughts straight. "Let’s get used to the idea that great public success (not always) also means a magnum opus," I don’t understand if you mean that public success = magnum opus or the other way around.

If you don't feel emotions while listening to Rock Bottom (an album that should be played 3-4 times a year, at the right moments), it means you're a stone. It's one of the most intimate and profound records ever written; listening to it is a mystical experience even before it's a musical one. If you don't like it, if you don't understand it, too bad—it's not an easy album, but stop trashing it. It's a masterpiece (thank goodness you're one of the few who know it and don't appreciate it), in any case, an album that deserves respect, just like its creator. Saying it would be good "as a foot for your wobbly living room table" is ridiculous. You risk winning the award for the dumbest statement of the year with 11 months to spare, congratulations.
