Iron Butterfly Heavy

Welcome. You've done a good job, but please drop the track by track and the minute by minute description of the album; it's unnecessary and makes the writing super boring. I have a compilation of Iron Butterfly that I've listened to very little, but they haven't grabbed me. Haloah.

Beautiful little page. @Contemplazione, I'm zero in this field just like you, but "Irrlicht" (the only one I know by Schulze) is monstrous, an incredible mystical experience. Definitely worth a listen.

An extremely enlightening review, in front of which I feel extremely ignorant :-)

I'm already taking care of it calmly... I'm clever, you know? :DD

Well, for the first years, I mean up until '72 or so, I would say they had already reached maturity by that point. Anyway, I admit I haven't listened much to the later stuff; just to give you an idea, the Gilgamesh put me to sleep (besides finding them quite cold, unlike the freshness of works like this), and even Hatfield & the North, while I appreciate them, don’t drive me crazy. But yes, it probably has to do with the fact that I generally prefer the blends of prog with psychedelia and hard rock rather than with jazz. Mmm, what’s missing now? Maybe the first Egg, I might give it a preliminary listen :D

I was listening to it today, very nice I must say, captivating. However, rather than strict progressive (after all, it's '69), I would rather describe it as psychedelic folk and in some passages even country. I would give the album a 3 and a half.

Hi Vincent, great job! (Horrible cover)

I had it on loop all afternoon and I totally agree with Bartleboom: it’s an absolutely stunning album. I definitely prefer the early years of Canterbury to the jazz-rock extensions you described in your earlier reviews.

@Francescobus, I understand that you might be annoyed, but I really don’t see why you should let yourself be influenced by the first jerk who comes along. By doing so, you lower yourself to their pathetic level; don't care about it, there will always be people who will be pleased to read your pages.
