It seems we were talking about grunge; as I recall, the band that started it all was Green River in '84, who then disbanded with Arm and Turner going on to form Mudhoney, who seemed like the resurrected Blue Cheer, while Gossard and Ament went off with Andrew Wood, who was a great singer on the edge of glam, to form Mother Love Bone... and that's that.

@chandler: maybe you meant "The Human Fury," the one with James Cagney, because "The Human Beast," the one with John Wayne, is one of Walsh's worst. My favorite from this great director remains "Pursued" with a fantastic Mitchum.
