But what kind of music are these guys making? Rockabilly? Cajun? Honkytonk? Krautrock? Surf? From the quite good and exhaustive review, it’s not really clear…

Good times, it's true, but I question that supremacy. This is a great debut, but the second one the following year already feels tired, repeating itself too much. Curiously, my favorite tracks from this album are the ones you don't mention: "Romantic me," "Green for go," "No love lost," in addition to the gem that is "Your dragging feet."
Meanwhile, take a look at another great and overlooked band of the era that resembled Polyrock in attitude: Martha and the Muffins, unlike those clowns Heaven 17 and ABC who have nothing to do with it.

but those were precursors from twenty years earlier; if anything, in the mid-eighties we left out Exploding with Mice, the most grunge of the lot in my opinion, and those three party animals from Hard-Ons who made a great Smell My Finger.

What has Veltroni done for the LEFT? Of course, if Mr. Poletti allows me, I would say that he has an outlook on politics identical to his comments on films, lacking backbone... Veltroni will be the new Moro of the new Christian Democracy, and if there were more opportunists like Moore, or is it better to have Tinto Brass who went from misfits and flying saucers to tits & asses?

@festwca: we were only talking about the groups devoted to the MC5/Stooges/Ramones vibe, not all of them are, otherwise we would also have to include the good Screaming Tribesmen.

...for the record, his "Live at the Point" in Dublin is exceptional.

...aritanga after barely two weeks, but why is no one reviewing the great Christy Moore?

Odradek... I just re-listened to the first of the polyrock, the last track Shut your face sounds just like the B52's... with the female backing vocals and the crooked guitar.

@festwca you forget the Lime Spiders and the Celibate Rifles, the latter are the best in my opinion, I just posted the review of Roman Beach Party.
