I'll be blasphemous, but Sharp Dressed Man from the controversial Eliminator also made me jump out of my seat. I remember the video of the three ZZ Top guys with three stunning girls, it was a hit despite the time when the English synth pop posers were all the rage...

vortex, it's not about eclecticism; just consider that Gibbons, when he was playing with the Moving Sidewalks in '68, was defined as the Jimi Hendrix of Texas, and we all know that JH brings everyone together... If this had all been about the studio facade rather than dedicating one to live performances, it would risk being the best of ZZ Top.

AAAAARGHHHH!!! On YouTube there’s even a video of a version of "Echo Beach" done by Toyah, anathema on her for this sacrilege and also on Fripp for marrying her.

@marko75 your devotion to Korn is touching, it deserves respect just like my ninety-year-old grandfather who insists on singing Bandiera Rossa every time he passes the old MSI headquarters now turned into a bingo hall, and even a clandestine one… but you can't expect people to kneel before the brilliant and innovative trio Korn - Limp Bizkit - Deftones based on your four words, not even if they were MC5 - Stooges - Ramones… maybe they have something better to listen to.

I'm new to Debaser and I've only just seen this lovely review of this great but unfortunate band. I'm interjecting with a post after a year for two reasons:
1) to contribute with my vote
2) to clarify that this is the SECOND album of the Hyenas, the first is Merry-go-round from 1987, which in my opinion is even a 5.

Bravo vortex! I'm glad I gave a boost to the recovery of a particular group like the two Mars, both at the keyboards and vocals. I'm more fond of the first and spontaneous Metro Music, I still have the vinyl here, but it's worth mentioning that this album demonstrates all the skill and growth of the band, much more sophisticated also because it was produced by a young Lanois (his sister joined the band as a bassist on this very record!) It's all true, in “Swimming” you can almost hear the frippertronics, and that gem “You sold the cottage” ... I can imagine it with the vocal duet from the B-52’s, Wilson's crooked guitar, and Fred Schneider’s chatter... P.S.: how beautiful and at the same time how heartbreaking it is to have a musical memory behind you...

Come on, the two Marte are amazing, especially the first one with that "Echos beach" featuring the minimal guitar riff, vintage organ, and a breathtaking sax solo. How beautiful!!!
