blackdog, I'll only tell you if you explain to me what the hell the Jorgensen farm from Sentieri Selvaggi has to do with Dyin' Alone by Micah P Hinson :))))

Well vortex, I think we’re more or less from the same batch, and I’m glad that good blood doesn’t lie.
Here, from our batch, the Depeche Mode have always been regarded with a shrug and that’s it; there were much cooler cult bands. Who knows why they have this reputation among the youth today…

Come on, make an effort! Tracks like "President Gas" outshine a lot of other bands from that overly praised era that have been elevated to cult status (e.g., Depeche Mode, whom I could never stand), and in "Love my Way," those soft and light keyboards from Todd Rundgren, like dandelion seeds in spring, contrast with Butler’s rugged voice demanding justice... Anyone who stopped at Talk Talk Talk is a fool (see Gialappa's...).

nothing to do with the Osannas except for the young Elio D'Anna who was the second sax after James Senese. They were the ones behind "Un'ora sola ti vorrei" and "Non si può leggere nel cuore" but also for versions like "Papa's got a brand new bag" by James Brown thanks to the great voice of Mario Musella (the real and only half black)

@il_paolo, if you find "I grandi Successi" by the Showmen in the basket, don't hesitate to buy it for me.

Look, I understand you, but that's exactly what I contest. I've been to several concerts of artists who have been on the scene for twenty years with the intention of enjoying the concert and not to feel sad by accounting for the passing of time. For example, last year Willy de Ville (who has been around since before Sonic Youth) practically made me grateful to be a fan of rock (and not of Memo Remigi or Al Bano) with a concert that lasted over two and a half hours, remaining an idol for me even after I "humanized" him by shaking his hand at the end of the show. For him and for me, time hasn’t passed, and if it has, it hasn’t done any damage nor has it been merciless. I’m sorry for you and Sonic Youth, but you can always console yourself with the basket of Italian CDs at the autogrill :) Ironically yours, supersoul

you are superficial il_paolo. I wasn't referring to going to concerts to reclaim YOUR twenty years, but going there with the illusion that those on stage are doing it for us, on our behalf. If you wanted to enjoy Sonic Youth, you should have gone to a concert back in the days of Sister or Daydream Nation; back then it had a meaning, today it has another. I've seen only one person live who, thirty years later, has maintained that charisma of a stage animal: the iguana Iggy.

No Italian people, Rundgren had produced the previous one, "Forever Now," and did a great job with his keyboards; a piece like "Love My Way" will remain immortal, as will "Sister Europe" from the first album. After that, I didn't follow them anymore because they were too focused on the American charts.

I greatly agree with comment no. 6 by Kosmo. You can't go to the concerts of your idols from twenty years ago deluding yourself that time has stood still. This time the role of the old fool is played by il_paolo. That "Better, maybe" referring to the basket of Italian CDs at the rest stop is chilling. Sonic Youth in their golden days were a notch above everyone else; in fact, they influenced everyone. Whether Thurston Moore has dyed hair or Kim Gordon has a belly, and who knows if they still make love with passion, are topics straight out of Italian movies in the style of Vanzina, not for having a few laughs about Sonic Youth.
