I miss this, but "Dogville," apart from the beautiful (but not new) conceptual idea, is a film of mortal boredom; if it had lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes, it might have been much better. Von Trier does not consider himself among the giants of cinema (not even Western). His most successful films are (for me, I haven't seen everything) "Le onde del destino," "The Kingdom - Il Regno" (a TV miniseries but for me remains the best he's done), and "Dancer in the Dark." I also didn't dislike "Epidemic," although I remember it vaguely.
