Metallica Master Of Puppets
Voto:
Since I've been on Debaser, I've reviewed great artists like Ozzy Osbourne, Pino Scotto, and Povia, but also bland singers like Oasis and Zucchero. However, tonight I felt like reviewing one of my all-time favorite albums called "Master Of Puppets," and I believe that (almost) everyone on this site knows it. In my opinion, Metallica is the greatest band ever, alongside Korn and Guns N' Roses. The first three albums of the band led by James Hetfield are definitely the best, and this one is the most beautiful of all for me. But let's get to work... the album opens with the frantic "Battery," a powerful piece that discusses tobacco and drugs, featuring the strong sounds typical of Metallica. The album continues with what I consider a masterpiece, the title track "Master Of Puppets." While the meaning of the lyrics can have multiple interpretations, the sound is pure powerful heavy metal that everyone can appreciate. "The Thing That Should Not Be" is another great track from the band that addresses important themes, with a pretty nice and fun rhythm. A completely different story is "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," which in my opinion can only be overshadowed by the title track; the theme of the song is as serious and important as ever... the madness of a man confined in a mental institution. "Disposable Heroes," on the other hand, is a proper metal song (not that the previous ones weren't) where you can hear the touch of the late Cliff Burton (probably the true soul of the band). "Leper Messiah" is another great song full of musical inventiveness and poetic license... combine these two factors and you get another great piece.
After six great tracks, you expect something equally impressive, and here comes "Orion," which might seem like a pointless piece, but it’s actually a continuous change of rhythm gifted to us by the great Kirk Hammett and the soul of Cliff Burton. The album closes with "Damage Inc," a catchy piece that is perhaps the weakest of all, which prevents it from becoming a perfect album but merely (so to speak) a classic of heavy metal and thrash metal.
In conclusion, this album is recommended to anyone who loves good music because I can confidently say that this is a "Classic" of music. Rating (out of ten): 4.9.

One of those things to listen to just for the cover, indeed.

How did I miss this one?

In itself, utterly dispensable, it has the merit of being well-played and, above all, of reviving a few songs and bands that are now forgotten.

I don't know what to comment, perhaps an inadequate review, but interesting. Something to work on, in short. The album is obviously very beautiful, though not the best from Gli Scarafaggi in my opinion.

Truly worth listening to. Sometimes it feels like hearing Led Zeppelin covering Kill 'em All.
