Ridley Scott Alien

I agree with Bartle and Ajeje: it's a film with so many psychoanalytic and sociological twists that inevitably a little page is not enough. Anyway, you did well. The 2nd and 3rd are not bad at all, and it's perhaps the only saga, directed by three different directors, that holds up (aside from the 4th which is actually pretty terrible).

Sorry Foster, but to say that Lynch has no ideas in most of his films is something that doesn't hold water. The problem is that he has too many, and sometimes he gets lost to the detriment of meaning. This thesis, circulated by various critics, that he is just messing with us, is simply a lack of willingness to analyze his cinema with a bit of attention and by revisiting his films multiple times. No one says that you are obliged to appreciate it or that you must make the effort to understand it. Everyone does what they want. I believe he is an extremely complex filmmaker, partly because he has a very strong dreamlike component that continually breaks the classical language of unity of space and place. The effort to follow him is then rewarded with truly great cinema. If you’re not interested, that’s perfectly fine; pursue something else. But don’t throw out the banality of him messing with us: Mulholland Drive, just to mention one, is probably the most beautiful love story represented in cinema in the last ten years; you just need the willingness to understand it.

It's not quite like that, Jake. Paul Morley wrote an essay: "Metapop - A History of Pop from the Big Bang to Kylie Minogue," published here by ISBN Edizioni, in which he thinks more with his brain than his libido about our reality. I will never buy one of his records, but his singles, thanks to the production more than the voice, are a notch above much of the crap out there. Therefore, I don’t understand the childish comments of some posters: if you don’t like pop music, no one is forcing you to listen to it. I get along just fine without knowing who won the latest Sanremo or without hearing a potential new album from Iron Maiden.

Hated by the pretentious and ignorant critics, perhaps even more loved by me for that reason. Far from Lynch's best, but so full of brilliant, entertaining, and captivating ideas that it is still well above the average cinema usually seen.

Black, as usual, you say one thing right and one wrong (an average score from Intertoto). Finally, after hours, you acknowledge that my time machine makes sense: the Stones of 1969 are the best rock 'n' roll band of all time (along with the Zep from 1969?). And then from 6 to 10 you don’t include Goats Head Soup? If only for "Do do do Heartbreaker." If only because Mick Taylor is still on guitar. If only because two tracks from Tattoo You are outtakes from Goats Head Soup...

As usual, I don't have the slightest idea about the groups you're talking about, but this time, I might just grab it.

I agree with all the previous posts. I've never been able to tolerate them from a political standpoint (some might call them "useful idiots"), but musically, there are moments that are truly captivating.

Nice recovery Vortex, I only know "Naja de merda," so I’ll trust the vote. The issue that resonates most in your review is "autonomi nel '77, eroinomani nel' 80." There’s a theory, told to me by some older "brothers," that suddenly, at the end of the '70s, Italy was flooded with heroin. It’s a bit of a conspiracy theory, so it’s never really convinced me, but I’ve heard it from more than one person.

Number three Beggars Banquet, of course. Anyway. Super, I had already given poor Blacky a hard time months ago about the Prefab record. And then he gave 5 to the latest Beck, which he and his sister liked (I mean Beck's sister). @C'è: neither one nor the other...just on Friday I started celebrating from eleven in the morning and didn't accomplish much, I'll make up for it tomorrow :-)
