@Ale: I actually wanted to tell you, it seemed strange to me that you didn’t ask about my ex bassist :-). Unfortunately for you, she’s taken and usually only dates drummers. I’m sorry... I think you would have fallen in love before the second chord of "Louie, Louie." @Ole: come on, lighten up a bit, forget those freaks :-). Well, it really seems like you wouldn’t like them, and you’d better stay away. @Vivis: and I already told you a couple of Fridays ago that I wanted to dance with you!

@Isi: you're right, mine was an improper translation of the term "Italian disco," which is so trendy in New York (one of the albums of the year 2007 for Pitchfork is a collection of lesser-known Italian dance music called, of course, "Italians do it better"). Thanks to everyone else for the compliments on this reckless improvisation!

Dear Tobby, even though I've had a few girlfriends, none of them ever told me that when you have your period, it also makes your ass itch (?!!). It seems to me that "itching the ass" is synonymous with being envious, a flaw that, among the many I possess, does not belong to me. Therefore, is it permissible for me to have a good ten idiosyncrasies, meaning a good ten groups that I think are crap? Elio et are among these, I've already explained my reasons on other occasions and I don't want to bore you. Let's simply say that they are pretentious and overrated, and this gives me the right to shoot at point-blank range. Doing so with Finley or Negramaro seems redundant to me.

Hi Vitalogy. To be honest, I wrote the review more out of a sense of duty:-). I mean, as the days went by, I saw that nobody was talking about this and on hp, on the other hand, there was a lot of crap. Nick, in the end, as you say, will be one of the albums of the year. So here I am, the review isn't anything exceptional but generally it was well-received and I'm happy about that. P.S.: in the meantime, the concert dates in Italy have arrived!

Dear Steo, damn without an apostrophe, thank you. I'm an extremist too, don't worry, and my brain is so scrambled that they don't feed it at all. That the review had the characteristics you claimed, I had no doubt. Next time, try to convince me that Bindi is a hot babe, maybe you'll succeed better.

I know I sound like a crazy person arguing about this album at one in the morning, but I also disassociate myself from "stuff that's born old." If there's one thing I can't stand, it's the nostalgia effect. That's not the point at all. If you had been kids in '85, this album would have seemed anything but old; it felt like it was projected from the moon into the small Italy of that time.

@Fusi: of course I have no intention of convincing you. I listened to it again this afternoon after about eight years of not hearing it: I put the first side back on out of pleasure, and, as usual, when I got to "Pioggia di luce," I had to get up and listen to it three times in a row because it's so beautiful. I thought it had aged horribly, but I had to change my mind. On the other hand, except for Isi, I believe that everyone who came to give 5 on this page wasn’t a young bud at the time of its release. And I assure you that in 1985 there was no one playing like that in Italy. In short, "palloso" is the adjective that fits the least, especially since it flashes by in eight songs, fast and brilliant. On the other hand, I find the Elii super boring, so to each their own. @Lewis: I find comfort in the fact that I'm not the only one with a faulty memory; "Gira..." is on 17 Re :-)

Damn Ale, I saw that you caught me! A day of utmost despair -:( (and I wasn’t feeling any better last night at 10:20 PM). Holy shit. I have to tell you that even though I’m a SY fanatic, when it comes to the releases on SYR, I stopped at the farewell to the 20th century, as it contained, in my humble opinion, only one relevant track ("Having never written a note for percussion"). Anyway, they’ve kind of pissed me off a bit (keep in mind that I have the entire official discography on vinyl). If you get a chance, I recently saw a live performance at Rockpalast in Düsseldorf (07-04-1996), where there’s a noisy outro of "Washing machine," which alone, as they say, is worth the price of admission.

@Fusi: look, I didn't mean to remind you of anything, it's known that between the two of us, the one who's losing it due to age is me. By the way, this disc from my high school days, while you were still in kindergarten, is one of the few things I've heard in Italy that has a concept of an Italian way to Rock (if it makes sense and is of interest), as it blends English new wave vibes with Arab and Central European influences and our melodic capability and singability. Listening to it again today, after so many years, it hasn't aged badly at all. So, I'll even raise the score, and I’ll allow myself to tell you that this time, saying it’s a boring record, you said the nonsense. With my usual affection. P.S.: just the bass work by Maroccolo would be more than enough, probably one of the best bass sounds ever heard in the entire history of Italian music.
