Starting from the assumption that I believe Queen is a band of considerable merit not just for the '70s. They may have followed the trends of the moment, but what class... Queen II is an album I've played endlessly and I consider "The March Of The Black Queen" one of the band's compositional peaks. This album is darker overall and showcases May's guitar work prominently. Great CD and thanks to the reviewer for this dive...now I'm going to listen to it again :)

If we want to be honest, there's a song here that reminds me of The Dark Ride by Helloween. It's true that The Dark Ride is not at all a typical Helloween sound. Then I thought I heard a strong resemblance to Dragon Lies Bleeding by Hammerfall... Overall, in the sadder parts, like My Judas, it really reminds me of Masterplan, while in the more traditional gallops, it's a mix of the '90s power metal. Anyway, it's very well put together as a product, as I mentioned in my review. Regards.

So, first of all, we need to say one thing. You can't say Blind Guardian does speed and Helloween does power. Which Blind Guardian??? The ones from Follow the Blind or Imaginations From The Other Side are completely different from the ones from A Night At The Opera and Nightfall In Middle Earth. Do you think the Helloween from Walls of Jericho are similar to the Helloween from The Dark Ride, Chameleon, or Gambling With The Devil??? We need to understand that these are two immense genres, and if we don't want to talk based on hearsay, we need to delve deeper into the matter. The current power is completely different from the power of the early days. The genre was born in Germany at the end of the '80s with bands like Avenger (who later changed their name to Rage), Iron Fist (who became Helloween), and Lucifer's Heritage (the future Blind Guardian). Back then, power metal meant powerful music, with a touch of melody. We could also include Grave Digger and Running Wild, but I prefer to consider them heavy metal. I would say that the album that launched power on a global level is Walls Of Jericho by Helloween (1986): it embodies 100% true power metal. Upbeat tempos, a not-too-clean voice, and a ton of tempo changes and twin guitar solos. Power changed drastically with the release of Keeper Of The Seven Keys I and II. These two albums by Helloween placed greater emphasis on the melodic side, while bands like Rage and Blind stuck to their initial raw sound. Melodic power evolved after the Keepers with the arrival of new cornerstones: Land Of The Free and Somewhere Out In Space (Gamma Ray), Visions and Destiny (Stratovarius), The Time Of the Oath and Better Than Raw (Helloween)... this is the power wave of the mid-'90s. With the arrival of these works, there was a real boom... The last wave occurred in 1997 and saw a general copying of the aforementioned works that already partly drew from the Keepers. Thus, we have Edguy (very Helloween and Gamma Ray), Sonata Arctica and Thunderstone (more reflective Stratovarius), Dragonforce (fast Stratovarius), Nightwish - Edenbridge - Kamelot - Hammerfall and so on... In Italy, Labyrinth, Domine, Rhapsody, Vision Divine, Secret Sphere, etc... Blind Guardian has softened since Nightfall In Middle Earth while Rage still remains one of the few examples of bands that still make true power metal. Currently, power metal is in crisis because it is overcrowded. In the '90s, it had its golden moment, but now they don't know what else to invent, and recent bands are to an expert ear more or less successful copy-and-paste jobs of works from 10-15-20 years ago. To a newcomer, many CDs may seem innovative and exciting, but trust me when I say it is not. Back to the point about this CD: it is not power metal, but very classic melodic heavy metal, and that is a fact. There are clear references to Saxon, Accept, and Savatage: 3 bands that anyone who has listened to metal for a while knows well. Cheers, I hope this has been helpful to you.

Glancing over the pointless literal diatribe with StayPower, which I warmly recommend to take an Italian course. Skipping this topic, I would instead like to clarify a couple of things. I liked the Rain. They are a very good Italian band, and Haedshaker in particular is an album I still enjoy greatly. That said, how the hell can anyone say this is power metal??? This is classic heavy metal. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of the genre knows that the Rain plays this kind of music. Power metal has completely different melodic lines. The reviewer says the band's sound is unlike any other band. Have you ever heard Saxon, Accept, Thunderhead, and Savatage, my dear??? At most, there's something from the more ostentatious Hammerfall. So, at first listen, it seems to me to be an extremely derivative CD, but still pleasant. Best regards.

We have two different benchmarks. Double consonants and the incorrect use of "h" are mistakes that would make me feel ashamed... a wrong space for "typo," happens. Points of view. Regards.

"when you write it"???? who cares staypower, we're doing great with Italian. I don't know the album, but I might give it a listen and let you know. Of course, giving 5 out of 5 to a debuting band... we'll see. bye bye

Well, obviously I could only respond. I didn't understand anything. Not because of a lack of clarity in your explanation, but due to my own lack of interest in delving into a topic that at the moment concerns me little. Perhaps to unveil the mystery, you could send an email to the staff. I'm signing off… bye :)

dear teomondo...perhaps it is considered cold because no one commented on it since November 2006
