Soft Machine Fourth/Fifth
Voto:
Third is their masterpiece. Fourth is a bit inferior, but extraordinary. I haven't listened to Fifth entirely.
Amy Winehouse Back to Black

Not bad. At disc 3.5.

A huge. Immense. And she was also beautiful. What more do you want from life? (a Lucanian?..)
Even though I prefer "Desert Shore" to this...
James Blunt All The Lost Souls
Voto:
I only heard the single "1973," which I would have liked to review. James Blunt is a young pop "rock" singer-songwriter like many others, but in my opinion, he has something extra compared to the others. "Back to Bedlam" isn't a masterpiece of music, but it's a very valid and high-quality album, with 3-4 really excellent tracks: ("Goodbye my lover," "You're beautiful," "High," "Cry"). Great review.
Avril Lavigne The Best Damn Thing

Ahahahahahahahhahahh!! Nice one!!
Avril Lavigne The Best Damn Thing

"Nobody's home" is not a bad track with nice lyrics. And look, even "Complicated" and "You're gone" aren't bad, although, I repeat, the most successful for me remains "I'm with you". The problem is that critics don't judge single tracks, but entire albums: consequently, if we take these out and maybe a couple of other songs, what’s left of Avril is garbage...
Twisted Sister Stay Hungry

One of the best hard rock albums. "Burn in hell" is incredible, indescribable, just like "I wanna rock" and "We're not gonna take it."
Avril Lavigne The Best Damn Thing

Marcounali, it's normal that Avril is more accessible to a 14-year-old than to a 40-year-old, but is it really impossible for a 40-year-old to listen to Avril? And above all, is it impossible for a 14-year-old to listen to Led Zeppelin, Slint, or Miles Davis? It's less likely, but it's still possible, and moreover, anyone at 14 who can listen to things well beyond the usual bland pop and Avril isn't abnormal in a negative sense; on the contrary, it shows they have a sensitivity and artistic maturity far superior to that of their peers. There's no question that Avril is better than Britney, and I would be pleased if my daughter or little sister dressed like her. I'll also confess that there was a time when I didn't mind Avril: I liked and still appreciate her for "I'm with you," and I wouldn't rate her first two albums a 1 like I would this one (where there’s quite a noticeable drop compared to the previous ones); the first two works were 2-2.5 stars (I would give her first album, in my opinion the least bad, a 5+). Then the lyrics... well, if she wrote the lyrics to "Girlfriend," they really suck, sorry, but if she has always been the one to write the lyrics to "I'm with you," it means not everything is trash; maybe she can write something good, but perhaps it's the record executives who force her to write lyrics of such low quality for teenagers with an equally low level of intelligence. Who knows.
