Well, if you consider "attack" and "controversy" to be the same, then you're a bit touchy, aren't you? ;-)

If you say that I contest your idea, then you are completely off track about what I wanted to tell you, I’m sorry. Did I, by any chance, say that one of you or Longlive is right? No. Did I say that your musical arguments are wrong? No. I said that, at least here, you tend to contest (and often insult) anyone who doesn't think exactly like you; I repeat, am I mistaken?

But Dave! I wasn't contesting your idea but the way you were expressing it, for goodness' sake!

Alright Dave, see it how you want, I'm honestly not here to debate further on the interpretation of a phrase that in my view expresses an arrogance (here disguised as false political correctness) and a musical racism (not only towards the musicians but worse, also towards the average listeners) that leaves me puzzled. Alright, I'm heading out, love you Dave!

I'm not getting heated, and I'm not attacking you; I'm simply saying that you often use improper terminology and play games to irritate others (like in the last post where you accuse me of attacking you when you know very well from our past experiences of dialogue that it's not the case), and this is a bit unfair. Am I wrong?

@Ajeje: it's not politically correct, it's education because here we're not talking about power games but personal tastes; if I find it, I'll post the page. (p.s.. I'm not saying you were rude, but that the term "fregnacce" was, in my opinion, disrespectful)
@Dave: look, you don't need to be a genius (and you're far from stupid) to read between the lines of the speech "I can't let someone who listens to classical music listen to all rock because the former is generally superior," or can you?

...and don't play those games with me like "And again, even saying 'fregnaccia' is a personal opinion" because I'm more streetwise than you might think. Sorry if I’m being harsh, but these sophisms are starting to get on my nerves. And let me anticipate that yes, I do contradict myself because I claim that objectively there are no objective truths and because maybe I was a bit impolite just now, but I repeat, these are games you played in high school. Can we have a serious discussion without for once playing whose is bigger? Bye, and of course, no hard feelings.

Telling someone they're talking nonsense is a lack of respect (unless we're talking about real nonsense, such as racially charged conversations or the like, in which case it becomes civic duty to respond appropriately). Honestly, I’m a bit tired of this tendency to offend and show little respect for any idea that doesn't align with a certain type of currently dominant musical culture.
I repeat, Longlive has presented his version (maybe I wouldn't say so, but neither do you) which is shared by many. Now, I know that for you (and also for Scaruffi) the world is divided between those who are wrong and those who are right, and between those who are culturally relevant and those who are not. Fortunately, this is not the case, and perhaps in a few years what you think now might be completely changed (and I believe so for Ajeje too), because you are very young and thus sensitive to changes. So think carefully before making certain statements because soon you might find yourself on the same side of the barricade, and I'm not joking. Peace and well-being. Education comes first, then ideas can also be different, and there is no objective truth about almost anything, and music is not among that almost.

Look, I can’t find it right now and I’m in a hurry, I’m sure it was in English, so in an American magazine. I swear I’ll look for it, anyway you just have to read this page on his website: The History of Rock Music. Storia della Musica Rock where he doesn’t state it directly but it’s easily inferred when he talks about playing rock for a classical music lover, for example, and mentions pyramids and the like. I’m in a rush and I have to go out, but if you’re interested later I’ll explain how I interpret this page (and I think it’s the interpretation of anyone who is familiar with the ways of life, and unfortunately, for work I have to be..) and anyway I will try to find where he states it directly. Bye!

I'll look for it for you, Dave, I should have something at home.
