Had I already come here? Who knows... I don't feel like rereading all the comments. Anyway, it's just a provocative review, whether it's copied or not doesn't matter much; it's based on nothing and provides few if any arguments to the proposed theses. Speaking of the album, it is definitely the most famous of the Maiden, but just as certainly not the best. At the time, there was no one who played like them (and I'll anticipate, no, not even Priest; then we could talk for hours about Sabbath influences, but even here the Maiden proposed a different path; the only exception were perhaps the newborn Metallica, who would then offer an alternative to the Maiden's sound). This way of playing may not be for everyone, but certain negative comments I see above are absolutely out of place, at least in my personal view.

It's precisely because "Trout Mask Replica" requires dozens and dozens of listens that, in my opinion, it's not a great album. By the millionth listen, even Claudio Villa (with all due proportions) becomes enjoyable to me. Peter Steele used to say, "don't confuse genius with a lack of talent"; I will never get tired of repeating it. And besides, the genres being compared are too different. The Beatles were the fathers of Pop, while Captain Beefheart can almost be considered among the founders of rock avant-garde (and for me, it remains more jazz than rock). Now, whether someone finds pop disgusting and appreciates free jazz or other genres related to the aforementioned artist is a different matter altogether. Get it through your heads, guys; relativism is destined to triumph. ;-)

@BjorK: we start at noon but as far as I'm concerned we can go on all day, so no problem. @Bubi: I suggested my place because it was geographically at the center of the initially involved DeBaseriani, and it’s definitely not a diktat; we can easily hold a referendum to decide the best solution. Personally, even coming to Bz is not a problem for me, but my house is still available! For private messages www.timeanddistance.splinder.com, click on the avatar (like for Isi, in short). Bye!

"Everytime I see your face I get all wet between my legs
Everytime you pass me by, I heave a sigh of pain
Everytime I see your face I think of things unpure, unchaste
I want to fuck you like a dog
I'll take you home and make you like it
Everything you ever wanted
Everything you ever thought of
Is everything I'll do to you
I'll fuck you and your minions, too
Your face reminds me of a flower
Kind of like you're underwater
Hair's too long and in your eyes
Your lips a perfect "suck me" size
You act like you're fourteen years old
Everything you say is so obnoxious, funny, true and mean
I want to be your blowjob queen I WANT TO BE YOUR BLOWJOB QUEEN
You're probably shy and introspective
That's not part of my objective
I just want your fresh, young jimmy
Turning, slamming, ramming in me
Everytime I see your face I think of things unpure, unchaste
I want to fuck you like a dog
I'll take you home and make you like it
Everything you ever wanted
Everything you ever thought of
Is everything I'll do to you
I'll fuck you till your dick is blue" DA FLOWER, EXILE IN GUYVILLE
