I quote Punisher, for me the real misstep was "Reveal", an overhyped album. When this one came out, I was stunned by the avalanche of criticism that followed. Why? It’s a beautiful album, "Leaving New York" quickly became a classic, Stipe is in great shape, but above all I don't understand why people insist on saying it’s a cold record, that it doesn't come from the heart: has anyone really understood the lyrics? Memorable "Final Straw" and "The Ascent Of Man". And the new one, according to Stipe, will offer a rockier sound compared to the last ones. Here, maybe the only flaw of this album is that it features all slow or mid-tempo tracks.

The reception is great, I have always greatly appreciated the way you write. I’ll tell you, Francis, that I don’t mind the latest production from Weezer either (Make Believe is an excellent album for me, and I regularly play with my band "Beverly Hills"...). What do you think?

I obviously bought the version with all the videos, to watch "Seven Days In The Sun," very nice. However, I still prefer the second part of the career; in the more rock pieces, they imitate the Foo Fighters a bit too much ("Come Back Around," a real complaint). "Just The Way I'm Feeling" is a missed classic; if a more "renowned" band had written it, everyone would have been shouting miracle.
